The Churchill Hotel

I made a reservation for my boss for Churchill Hotel through hotels.com. I received the confirmation after making the booking. When my boss was trying to check in at 10:30pm after a long, exhausting day, the hotel denied having a reservation and was very unpleasant. I requested to speak to a manager and he told me HE was the manager. I provided him with the hotels.com reservation number, which he claimed to know nothing about, and when I was able to show him the email reservation confirmation, he grudgingly honored the reservation but the customer service was HORRENDOUS.
The following day, the hotel tried to increase the rate even though I had confirmed the locked-in rate the previous night. Even when shown the email confirmation of the rate, they resisted and tried to insist I had to pay the increased rate. My boss checked out a day early.
I've worked in restaurants and bars and understand dealing with the public can be challenging. But this treatment of a professional business woman who was in DC for a business conference was appalling and unjustified.

Review: When we tried to check in we were informed that our room was no longwr available after it had been paid for. They were willing to send us to another hotel.
