Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response by the owner of the Clean Team, Vanike L*** because:
Vanika L*** of the Clean Team has fabricated much information in her response I have saved every text and email, and never once did she mention anyone getting sick or having rashes etc Her main reason for not finishing the job as she stated " It's too far to drive and isn't worth my time and "the cats are going to the bathroom on the floor"
I would like to repeat, that when Vanika L*** left the litter boxes outside for over hours, where did she think the cats were going to go to use the bathroom? Another of Vanika L***s fabrications or untruths is she states the cats are feral That is completely untrue All cats were born in my home and had never been outside other than to the vet The only time they were outside was when Vanika L*** left windows wide open without screens overnight She was careless with my home, my property and my pets In her response, Vanika L*** states she was concerned about the "chemicals" and the effects on my cats I"m sorry, but I use *** *** *** all the time, and that's what she was using, along with glass cleaner I did decline to relocate the cats because there were no strong chemicals used as Vanika L*** has indicated It is interesting to point out though, that she claims to be concerned about the cats, however, she wasn't concerned enough to shut three windows to prevent them from getting out, and she wasn't concerned enough to put the litter boxes back inside of the home
Another thing Vanika L*** has fabricated is that I have a disabled sister I do have a sister with a slight mental health issue, but she is not disabled and she works full time every day.
In response to Vanika L***s claim that I attempted to hire several other companies : I did hire a company initially that cleared out furniture and other itemsThat "company" consisted of a wife and husband who later on were using drugs and had to enter a rehabilitation facility and were unable to finish the job I then contacted other companies one was Vanika L***s company and the other was a local company who informed me they only do commercial jobs No company declined the job based on the condition of the home Again, Vanika L*** is fabricating stories.
There were surfaces that had cat excrement on them, but not nearly as much as Vanika L*** implies In addition, she toured the home prior to accepting the job, so she knew full well what the job entailed.
The home has never had a mold problemThis is another fabrication on Vanika L***s part.
I never once indicated when my sister would be moving back in the home Actually I kept asking Vanika L*** when they would be done, so that I could have carpet put down and furniture delivered Vanika L***, of the Dream Team, stated she thought she would be done that Saturday That Saturday came and went and she did not show up, nor did any of her "team" In fact they had not shown up for several days Vanika L*** also did not respond to texts for a couple days as well When she finally did return my text it was Monday and she simply said " I am passing on the job" " It's too far to drive and not worth my time".
I can provide the actual texts if need be
Again, Vanika L*** has fabricated information about the home having "significant structural issues" There are no structural issues At the time Vanika and her "team" were in the house, there was a loose piece of drywall in the ceiling of the laundry room The house has been inspected by a certified building inspector and deemed "structurally sound" I had this inspection in the event this case goes to court
9> Vanika L*** states I got angry and threatened to ruin her business This is another fabrication and blatantly untrue! I have all of the texts which I can have printed out to prove this is not true I did inform Vanika I would be contacting the Revdex.com regarding her not honoring the contract she signed It was not a threat, but a fact, and something I followed through on I have no desire to ruin her business I'm sure that she does a good job of light dusting and mopping floors But her work for heavier jobs leaves a lot to be desired For example, when she attempted to wipe down the ceiling in the kitchen She started at one side and worked her way to the other The side she started on looked fairly clean, but as you look to the other side, you can tell she never changed the water because the ceiling was very streaked and not clean on the other side
I have since hired another cleaning service who had the home ready for occupancy within two days of Vanika deciding not to honor the contract she signed This company was outstanding! The entire home was perfectly clean in less than hoiurs Sadl,y even they had negative comments on the quality of the work that Vanika L*** and the Dream Team struggled to do.
I want to add that I do not think Vanika earned the $425.00, and she was not there on each day that she lists in her response One day she was there for less than an hour Based on the times she was there, I would say she and her helpers worked days of less than hours each day On the third day, that was the day they came to put the litter box back in the houseThey did not work that day and were only there for minutes to put the boxes back in the house No cleaning crews were put into dangerous conditions, again Vanika L*** seems to have a very active imagination and makes things up I was not unwilling to pay a reasonable wage by any means Vanika and I agreed upon a price and we both signed a legally binding contract If she really thought the wage unfair, I feel confident she would not have signed the contract In my opinion, the owner of this company is not professional, nor honest And if anyone/anything is damaging her reputation, it's the shoddy work, inconsistent work, and violation of the contract that was signed Good and honest businesses do not do business that way
Regards,

Review: The owner of The Clean Team met with me in the home that was to be cleaned. She was free to look anywhere in the home and did so. This home needed significant deep cleaning. Vinika agreed to take the job and we set a date for her and her team to start and to sign a contract that same day. The day she started the work, we signed a contract and I paid her 1/2 of the total charge. The other half was to be paid at the completion of the job. We both signed the contract, and we both initialed that she had received $425.00 cash. She and her team began work that day. Then they didn't come for a couple of days, but showed up soon after. The day they showed up again, they left my cats litter boxes outside for well over 24 hours. They also left windows wide open with no screens. (no one is currently living in the house, however a family member stops by every other day to feed the cats and noticed the windows open, cats missing, cat feces on the floor due to the litter boxes being outside).I mentioned these things to Vinika and she apologized and said it wouldn't happen again. Vinika and her team showed up maybe 3 total days, one of which was only for purpose of putting the litter boxes back into the home. Cleaning of the litter boxes was never in the contract by the way. Vinkia assured me the job would be done on Saturday, October 4th 2014. She never showed up that day. But when I contacted her, she said she had forgotten she had another job on that Saturday, but she would be back the following Monday (Oct 6). I waited at the house during the hours she said she would be there. I also texted her to ask what time she would be there. I got no response for several hours. Finally well into the evening, she texted me back and stated she was passing on the job because the commute was too far for her and that the cats had pooped on the floor. She violated the contract she had agreed to and signed and did not complete the job, nor did she earn the $450 she was already provided with.Desired Settlement: I would like at least half of the money I paid her. She was to receive a total of 850.00. I paid her $425.00. She did not do $425.00 worth of work and she violated the terms of the contract by not completed the job. I would like at least $200. back.

Response:

November 20, 2014To Whom It May Concern:My name is Vinika L[redacted] I am the owner of The Clean Team. It has recently come to my attention that a former customer of mine, [redacted], has filed a complaint against my company. I want to respond to and refute these allegations. A breakdown of events follows: • After being contacted by [redacted] through the website [redacted], where I advertise my cleaning services, I met the client at [redacted] in New Castle on September 29, 2014. Upon arriving at the residence I was overcome by how dilapidated and filthy the property was. It was overrun with cats and seemed abandoned. [redacted] informed me that she needed the home cleaned up immediately because she needed to move a disabled sister into the property. [redacted] informed me that she had attempted to hire several other cleaning companies and all had declined based on the condition of the home. o [redacted] explained to me that she did not have much money and said it was extremely urgent that she prepare the home for her relative. I felt sorry for her and said I would take on the job for $1,000. [redacted] told me she could pay me $850 broken down in two payments of $425. I wanted to help her, and I accepted. • Two workers and l started the job on a Monday, with [redacted] informing me that she was going to move her disabled sister into the residence the following Monday. I received $425 that day and signed a paper agreeing to the payment of the $425 when I finished cleaning the house. Our team of three cleaned the house Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of that week. There were five feral cats living the house. The home was absolutely covered in cat urine and feces. The stove, refrigerator, countertops — literally ever surface was covered in feline excrement. At the very beginning I asked [redacted] to remove the cats from the residence because not only would their continued urination and defecation make it impossible to progress with the cleaning, I was concerned about the cats' wellbeing as we would need to use str[redacted] chemicals that could be potentially harmful to animals. [redacted] refused to remove the cats from the residence. • Upon beginning our work in the residence it became evident that the home had a severe mold problem. We did not realize the severity of the problem until we started our work. Entire walls and ceilings were infested with mold. By the end of the week, after breathing in the mold and cat waste, my colleagues and I were physically ill and had skin rashes. • After attempting to work on the house for one week and realizing the home's condition was far beyond the scope of what my company could safely handle (we do not have hazmat suits, breathing machines, or access to dumpsters), I reached out to [redacted] and informed her that The Clean Team would not be able to have the home ready for human occupancy by Monday and said we could not safely continue to work at the residence. I told [redacted] that she could keep the remaining $425 and that the initial $425 could cover our week's worth of work. I told [redacted] that the home had significant structural issues as well as many serious health risks and was not fit for anyone to live in, let alone her disabled sister. [redacted] became extremely angry with me and threatened to ruin my business' reputation if we did not continue cleaning the house.I hope this explanation has illuminated the fact that The Clean Team did our very best to accommodate [redacted]. If anyone was taken advantage of in this situation, it was my staff and me. [redacted] is putting cleaning crews in extremely dangerous conditions and is unwilling to pay them a reasonable wage for the tremendous task. Her property is likely to be condemned if inspected and her plan to use the home for her disabled sister is something that worries me to this day. The Clean Team is a very professional, earnest, and honest company and we do not deserve to have our reputation damaged by [redacted].Attached are photos of the residence, in hopes that this serves as further evidence of the unhealthy conditions we were dealing with. I look forward to your response.Best,V. L[redacted], The Clean Team
