*** I would like to acknowledge your concerns regarding your membershipHowever, for reasons listed below, we are unable to offer a refund for your monthly duesWhen you requested a membership freeze on April ***, you gave the "Freeze Reason: Not living in NY for a few months", and your account
was set to be reinstated on August *After receiving your freeze request on April ***, we sent you an email the same day confirming your membership freeze, "[we have] frozen your membership effective May *-July **Your account will reactivate effective August *** unless you unfreeze your account early." You acknowledged this freeze confirmation via email later that day. When you signed our membership agreement, you agreed to get billed on the *** of every month until advance written notice is provided for your cancellationHad you notified us in the last three months that you were leaving NYC for good, we would have processed your cancellation, and you would not have been chargedAfter contacting us on August *** and explaining that you have permanently moved from NYC, we set your membership to cancel for the following billing cycle, ensuring that you would not be billed again going forwardAt this time, this is all we are able to do to resolve your concerns and we hope that you can reevaluate your experience with us as a whole, and not just in light of this recent incident

We have responded with all the information we have in regards to this complaint

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I believed I was canceling my account a full 3 months before August [redacted]. The business is claiming I only suspended my account but that was not clear nor was it my intention. I attempted to cancel well before the deadline set forth in the membership agreement. The Cliff's website forms may be to blame for this confusion but it is human stubbornness which is prolonging this issue. Please refund the month as requested.

Review: I have signed up for a yearly membership at THE CLIFFS AT LONG ISLAND CITY rock climbing gym.Gym opened up early October of 2013 and was closed in late October of 2013. Gym management initially communicated that gym would be re-opened for members within two weeks. Later the date was pushed for early 2014. Gym has never offered a refund, but offered to use their other location which is not easily accessible from NYC.Two times I have spoken to gym manager [redacted] who was not able to communicate the gym re-opening date. On January [redacted] 2014, [redacted] stated that gym management would communicate refund issuance date to yearly subscribers. I have not received any communication since and have followed up with an email on March [redacted], 2014. As of March [redacted] I have not received any response from The Cliffs or [redacted].I would like to get a refund of my annual membership fee prorated for the days I have been able to use the gym.Desired Settlement: I suggest a prorated refund be issued. The Cliffs should provide a statement of dates between which I was able to use the gym and deduct a portion of the payment accordingly while refunding remaining portion of the payment.
