clock dr picked up clock for repair and did not honor our agreementa service charge 0f $135.00 was charged and he took internal mechanisms to shop to clean and stated that it would cost $600.00.after he departed I called my husband @ work and advised of what transpired. We decided that it was too much so I put stop payment on check and called the clock dr and stated that I would pay service charge but did not want to pay $ 600.00 for cleaning. He never bought my clock back or performed repairs but stated that I owe him for all of his bounced checks.I previously asked for my property back and stated that I would pay service charge,no repair or property given back.Started dec 2013Desired Settlementi want my internal mechanism returned to my home so I can get a reputable agent to repair my clock and I am prepared to give service charge for call only.the clock is a [redacted] grand father clock model#XXX-XXX ser#XXXXXXXX the clock dr[redacted] mem tn. XXXXX ph#XXX-XXX-XXXX fax#XXX-XXX-XXXXBusiness Response Several pertinent facts have been excluded from Mr. [redacted]'s complaint. There is a balance due. Services rendered up to this point far exceed the service call fee. The service call fee has not been paid, much less the remaining balance. Because of the details of the dispute, accusations of racism by the [redacted]'s towards me, cancellation of the initial deposit check by the [redacted] and them informing me that they were acting on their attorneys advice in doing so, I elected to deal with their attorney in the hopes of settling this in a timely and professional manner. I received a letter from the [redacted] Law Firm demanding settlement. It was apparent from the letter that the [redacted]'s misrepresented the facts of this issue with the attorney. I spoke with [redacted] the representing attorney, and discussed the matter. The attorney and I came to a mutual and fair solution which she said she would present to her client. The response I received from the law firm was that they will no longer represent the [redacted] in this matter. I will deal only with the an attorney representing the [redacted] in this matter (a neutral third party) and require that the full balance of services rendered, and incidental fees, be paid. At that time the [redacted]'s property will be delivered to the attorney's office where they can take possession of it in the same condition it was in when picked up from the job site.

Cuckoo clock left for service October 2014 and cannot get response to get clock back after numerous attempts. Phone will no longer even allow messagesMy cuckoo clock worth around $500 excluding considerable sentimental value was left with him 10/23/2014 for repair. When I called on 10/22/2014, he answered the first time and said bring it in the next day with no indication he was behind in repairs. He took no notes when I explained in detail the minor issue I was having with the clock. When I left it, he said he was behind and not to be calling in 2 weeks but he would give me an estimate before repairing it.A sign said there would be a minimum charge of $45 for any clock left. I gave him some time before beginning to call, leaving a message each time for him to return a call and never getting a reply until late February when he finally answered and said he got my call but had been off for bad weather (he works out of his home and posts signs to respect his privacy and only come by appointment). He said he would take a look at it and give me a call which he never did. I called back March 16, 20,and other times and left messages, but no return call. Beginning late April I kept getting a message after many rings that that messages were not being accepted and to try again later. I went by there but as a single 64 year old lady I was fearful to not abide by the warnings posted to not come without an appointment so I left. I continued to call but since no message could be left I sent a letter on 4/28 requesting to just pick up my clock, willing to pay the $45 "ransom" just to get it back. I got no reply. On 5/6 and 5/9 I was finally allowed to leave messages that I just wanted to pick up my clock. On 5/11 he surprisingly returned my call and when I asked for a time to come get my clock, he advised me it was "all in pieces in a box" which was necessary to determine an estimate and would get back with me "in a few days" with the estimate. I realize now I should have told him I would pay the "ransom" and take it in pieces! ( I doubted this since there had been plenty of time to prepare an estimate if he had taken time to take it all apart!) I have not heard from him and that has been almost 2 months ago and I have been calling again (including 7/7/2015 and 7/8/2015 only to again get the message that I cannot even leave a message. After over 8 1/2 months without my clock and all the grief and time spent trying to get it back, I feel he should at least return the clock in at least as good shape as when I left it with NO charge, especially since I am certain I have spent more time trying to get my clock back than he has spent working on it without even an estimate yet. I was advised by someone in the sheriffs department that I could file a complaint for stolen property and that over $500 would be a felony charge. I do fear a person of such business practices so decided to see if Revdex.com could get me proper resolution instead. I do still have my claim ticket in case he asks. Desired Settlementallow me to pick up my clock in the condition it was when I left it ( or better) without charge. I feel that is very generous of me considering my time spent, so long without my special clock and cost of trips there.Final Consumer Response [redacted]

Complaint[redacted] took two clocks from me and was pre-paid for his service to repair and return the clocks. He has not answered my 'phone calls. [redacted] of "The Clock Doctor" picked up my clocks in November 2013 and said he would have them back after the holidays. He collected $800.00 from me to pay for the repairs. These clocks are valued at $15,00.00 and $600.00 respectively. He has been contacted by me once a month after this and in February 2014 said he would "surely have them back by the end of March 2014." This did not happen. I have been unable to contact him since then. I am considering calling the authorities regarding this incident. Desired SettlementI want my money and clocks returned immediately or I have no other recourse (as he will not answer 'phone calls anymore) than handling this through the police. I appreciate anything you can do. Thank you.Business Response Mr. [redacted]'s clocks were picked up on 12DEC13, not in Novenmber as he stated in his complaint. Mr. [redacted] did not "pre-pay" for his repairs...he put down a deposit of 50% of the ESTIMATE of what I thought it was going to take to make the repairs to his clocks, which had problems which were impossible to diagnose in his home. He was told that the repairs wouldn't be STARTED until after the holidays, not that the job would be FINISHED right after the holidays and he was NOT IN ANY WAY PROMISED a completion date on his 200 year old clock that was in horrible mechanical condition due to lack of proper maintenance and improper previous repairs.I returned every call that Mr. [redacted] made to me and told him the same thing every time....I would give him a progress report of what had been done up to that point, and told him that the job was progressing but that I could not promise him a delivery date because of the nature of the repair due to the condition the clock was in. When I refused to give him a guaranteed completion date, on or about 4APR14, he accused me of "taking his money and not doing anything to his clocks". at this point the repairs were 80-85% complete. he demamded that his clocks be returned along with his deposit "since I had done nothing so far". I informed him that the deposit had already been used up and that there was a balance due, even if he chose to halt any further work. He chose to halt further repair. He picked up his dissassembled clocks, paid his balance in cash, and went his way. While at Mr. [redacted]'s home the day the job was sold, Mr. [redacted] spent an excessive amount of time talking to myself and my assistant about everything under the sun except for the business at hand, his clocks that needed repair. It was so bad that I repeatedly, and assertively, had to steer the conversation back to our current business. Mr. [redacted] apparently didn't listen to anything I tried to tell him about how this job would go...time frame, final cost, payment structure, etc. which is apparent based on the misrepresentations he made in this complaint. Mr. [redacted] has his property back in his possession, has paid his balance for the services that were rendered, and I will refuse to do any further business with him. I consider this matter closed and will make no further response to your agency concerning this matter. On another note, your agency gave me an "F" rating because I tired of wasting my time responding to these frivilious complaints from customers twisting the facts, and/or outright lying trying to get their way. Since the Revdex.com cannot compel me to take any action, nor can it do anything substancial for the consumer, and the fact that the Revdex.com does not investigate, or follow up on any complaint, I will not longer participate in the efforts of the Revdex.com to justify its own existence by doing nothing more than passing messages backand forth. I deal with my customers, not the Revdex.com, and I will no longer respond to ANY MORE UNSUBSTANTIATED complaints that your agency sends me unless you are willing to reimburse me for the time to do so. If I feel the complaint has merit, and I have in some way failed to do what I should have done for the customer, I will respond. Since your disclaimer posted above on this webpage states " consumer's complaint and your response may be publicly posted on Revdex.com's Web site", I expect that this announement WILL be made available for for public viewing. If it is not, I will consider legal action of my own.
