The Colon Health Center Reviews (2)

Review: My complaint is in regards to their policy which was informed after the fact. I had an appointment for a colon cleanse today (9/**/13) at 10:30am. The company sent me an email to confirm the day before at 10:10am and I confirmed. However, later that evening I saw a notification for a voicemail. Thus, I listen to it and it was my infants pediatrician requesting for me to bring her in the following day due lab results. When I heard the message the Cleansing Day Spa was closed. The following day (9/**/13) at 8:50am I called the Spa to ask them to reschedule for the following day (9/**/13) under the circumstances. I was then informed I would incur a $25 deduction fee out of what I paid to lock into a discounted rate. I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF ANY $25 FEE IF MISSING AN APPOINTMENT. Furthermore, I feel they are heartless to penalize me on the basis that my child is ill and her pediatrician personally called for her to be seen. I pleaded with the manager ([redacted]) at the Cleansing Day Spa, stating, its not fair for me to have to chose between taking my infant in for an emergency follow-up or going for a colonic. I even went to the extent to ask him if I bought a note from the pediatrician would he reconsider and his response was "to take the lost of $25 over your child's health". At that point I told him I would like a refund ($75) of my remaining balance and get my services elsewhere. That's when he then informed me they have a No Refund policy. I said I was unaware of this policy and he told me its at the bottom of my receipt. I told him that it is wrong and unfair for me to be told about their policies after being pushed to pay in advance in order to receive a discounted rate. I told him I will contact Revdex.com and report him and his response was you "can try anything to get your money but its not going to happen. All I have to do is send a copy of my policy and your bank with reject your claim. I do this all the time so good luck". I was stunned and called him a criminal and hung up.Desired Settlement: I paid for two colonic sessions at a discounted of $100(original rate $120). As I requested to the manager if he deemed it necessary to deduct $25 from my session due to an urgent matter then so be it. However, I would like a refund of $75, which is my remaining balance. I rather take my business elsewhere. If he had a heart and good customer service skills he would of accepted a doctor's note and wave the fee as a one time courtesy. However, that isn't the case. Please help me resolve this asap

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is [redacted] and I am the owner of [redacted] llc, dba The Cleansing Day Spa. I please request your assistance in assuring the above claim for the disputed charges has been discarded due to our clearly stated policies.

On September [redacted], 2013, [redacted] came into the Cleansing Day Spa for a service and purchased a package for two additional services. She had her 2nd appointment scheduled for September [redacted]. We left a message the day before her appointment to remind her of her appointment the next day. We also sent her an email and she confirmed. Our cancellation policy is clearly stated on our email and we also clearly communicate our cancellation policy when appointments are made. In addition it is clearly printed on the bottom of her credit card receipt. We understand that many people may run into reasons to cancel an appointment, however without 24 hours advance notice we unfortunately still have costs that need to be covered for the missed appointment and must adhere to a strict cancellation policy. [redacted] confirmed the day before her appointment but then called less than 2 hours prior to her appointment to cancel. We did offer to let her reschedule her appointment, however due to the last minute cancellation, and the fees we would incur, we must hold to our $25 charge to reschedule the appointment last minute. [redacted] called numerous times and with each call I regret that we are not able to be more flexible, however we pride ourselves on always putting our customers and employees first and need to balance our individual customers needs with those of our other customers and employees to assure we continue to provide a successfully run sustainable small business.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

[redacted], [redacted] llc.

The Cleansing Day Spa

Review: I received services at the Cleansing Day Spa 3 days prior to this complaint. While receiving their colonic service, I was repeatedly told by the woman overseeing the service that I would need to do it at least 3 times in order for it to be effective and that I should purchase a set of 3 at the minimum. The colonic service was not what I expected at all and I was left to sit in a room and push on my stomach for 40 minutes myself. Needless to say, I was exhausted after the service. I was told again by the woman at the front desk that it is advised that I get 2 more sessions immediately - within a week, for it to be effective. So, I requested the 3 session package. For my first session, they only took a $25 deposit. This time, they charged me the entire cost of the package in addition to another service that I received. After stating to several people that the colonic experience was unpleasant, manual and exhausting, I was told that there are other, less manual methods of getting a colonic. I requested that my remaining 2 colonic sessions be cancelled today because I remember the policy that cancellations are allowed if advised at least 24 hours prior to service, and asked what the policy was regarding my deposit. They advised that they took the full amount of the 3 set package and ON THE RECEIPT there is a no refund policy. At no time did they state this policy while trying to sell me on the package, nor is the policy posted in the business itself. Only on the receipt, which comes AFTER payment is it stated. They told me that they will keep a credit open in my name and that is the best that they could do. I feel deceived! First appointment is a deposit and the next appointment is full payment. Oh, and by the way, NO REFUNDS. That's a horrible practice and very deceptive. That should be disclosed prior to any transaction!Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my money back for the services that were cancelled. They deserve the payment for the services that were received, whether I liked them or not, but why should they get to keep my money for subsequent services that have been cancelled. Though they weren't bad people, I did not like their service. Even if they keep a deposit, they should not be entitled to full payment.
