I have been having issues with the internet service since May of this year(2016)I am still having gaps and lags in the serviceThey can't fix it I first reported the problem with the internet back in MayMy service is constantly lagging and going off completelyHave had several repair men to look into the problem with no successOtelco has not offered a reduced price or a refund for the interrupted service nor have they found or fixed the problemWe have swapped out modems with no successChanged routers and reset functions multiple timesMy neighbors up and down the road are experiencing the same problems We have no other choices for cable or internet in Oneonta except for satelite I am really tired of calling and complaining, only to have nothing done to fix the issue

Ever since I have gotten Otelo Internet, I have gotten Internet Slower than what I am playing for...Matter of fact SLOWER THAN DAIL UP! When I 1st got Otelco, I got the 12mg speed with the telephone, also renting a modemI had problems with them the 1st they were suppose to put it in b/c they showed up and had to come back the "next day"Well I called in that day and they NEVER showedI called to talk to a manager and he said he didn't know anything about itSo I was charged to use the internet that day I didn't haveNext it took them more days to come out and fix the problemAlso charged those days....NO INTERNET! Finally they got it fixedHowever, Through out the month I was getting internet speeds at 0.37, 1.20, and (at this time I was paying for mg)So I called to have it fixedThe guy came out and said it was on their end and "fixed it"Something about more than half the information wasn't going outAbout weeks past with about 9mg to MG of service(accep

Worst company I've ever felt with they have a monopoly on the internet and own the lines in my area they charge ridiculous prices for horrible service that only works if the wind isn't blowing, they refuse to pick up the phone for customer service and never deliver more than 20% of advertised speed

Otelco is only in business because they have no competitorsI called weeks ago to schedule them to hook up the internet and they couldn't schedule it until they did a sight serveyWell, they did the sight servey last week and now they can't put me on the schedule until the engineers run a line underground to my houseI ask when will this happen and the CSR says "I don't know"Not ill find out or let me get back with you, just I don't know*** know I dont have another option

I pay otelco every month around $132-for internet and phone serviceMy Service Package includes the highest internet speed provided in my areaHowever, even with the highest package of speed I continue to have several problems with using my internet even when connected directly to the back of the modem via Ethernet cable cordI often run speed tests using speedtest.net when doing so I receive results of mbs download and mbs upload on very few rare occasions I might get a better result of around mbs download and mbs upload however it is very rare for me to get those speedsI am very dis-satisfied and frustrated with otelco after complaining on many occasions to only hear excuse after excuseI would like something to be done about this because unfortunately otelco has this service area all to them self and I am u

Horrible customer service!!! I've been a loyal customer for 7+ years but today, I'm over there exorbitant pricing an the worst customer service I've ever actually experienced I was told, via email...so I have it in writing, one price for a new higher speed upgrade, but when my bill came it was nearly triple the expected price When I emailed, so I would again have it in writing, I was told that there is a $installation fee that the rep (her name is Janet B***) that I dealt with "honestly forgot" to mention WHAT??? Forgot to mention, honestly or not, is dishonest and I'm quite certain illegal! When I asked for this $charge to be removed, I was not only told no, but that my new lower monthly rate would now go up $because I refuse to pay a fee that she "honestly forgot" to mention When I called her directly and was told this again, I asked to speak to her supervisor and after being on hold for several minutes was told no, she also wouldn't provide said supervisor's (or "Lead" in her terminology) name or contact info Then she hung up on me!!!! What kind of reputable company does this kind of business??? All I asked for was what I was told How is it that a company can just say "No", but also tell me they are going to raise my bill?
