Let me start by saying that this is the second time in my life that I am writing a reviewThis was a very difficult decision for me to make because it's a big purchase and the first time I'm purchasing an air conditionerI always like to be an informed buyer, so I had my work cut out for me I decided to replace my air conditioner for reasonsMy electric bill was sky high for most of the year and I wanted to replace it before it died in the middle of the summerI got references from people I knowI called those people to come out and give me an estimateI also spent a lot of time researching to understand everything I could about buying an air conditionerI didn't have a good feeling about the first person that came outI had decided to go with the second company, but when I decided to look them up in the Revdex.com, they had unresolved casesI then decided to look on my own and see what I could findI came across The Comfort AuthorityThey had the most number of reviews and the highest ratingsAfter reading their reviews, I called and immediately had an evening appointment set upJames came into my house with his shoes covered to avoid bringing anything from outside into my homeHe did his evaluation and explained to me what my options were should I decide to go with themBy the end of the evening, I knew that my search was overI had some questions along the way leading up to my installation, about the product, where the air conditioner was going to be installed, etcI even called several of their customers to get their feedback on their equipment and the companyI heard only glowing commentsI came to understand that the contractors are the most important part of this equationYou can have the Cadillac of machines, but if it is not installed properly, it will not work properly and be nothing but a nightmareThey showed up at my house a little after am on installation day and left at 11:pmBy the end of that day, I could feel air coming from the vent in my bedroom for the first time since I lived in this houseI was not sure at first if I was imagining it or notI've had the new system now for days and I am completely satisfied and relieved that I made an excellent decision with a great outcomeJames and Steve are the ownersEveryone on their team, are professional, polite and service oriented peopleThey are great and I look forward to having a long relationship with all of themI hope this review will be helpful to someone who is in the position I was in several weeks ago, starting your searchYou can't go wrong with The Comfort Authority; they will stand behind their work [redacted] **

An absolute rarity!! Like a mythical unicorn, I couldn't believe that we actually found an Honest and Professional Air-Conditioning company that made us feel as thought they cared about us more than making a profit!! This company truly breaks out of the herd of unscrupulous Air-Conditioning companies!! The Manager, Peter, guided a professional team of technicians made up of Adrian and ShawnFrom the very professional work-van to the quality time this team took, we can't help but sing their praisesThese gentlemen made it clear from the start that they were not in a hurry to get to other work, but wanted to make sure our installation was perfectionWe overheard the gentlemen talking several times, making sure to avoid "short-cuts" and ensuring the best work was accomplishedMidway through our new installation, and again prior to the end of the installation, the Co-owner [redacted] arrived and checked in with the gentlemen, providing encouragement and even helping outI could go on and on, but from the office staff (Kaylin), coupled with Peter's (Manager) leadership of his highly motivated and professional technicians, Adrian and Shawn, [redacted] T [redacted] and [redacted] C [redacted] have assembled an unbelievably professional and exceptional team! Reasonably priced, full of Integrity and Honesty, if you don't choose Comfort Authority at the start, you'll either end up with them, or kick yourself for not choosing them! Some of the teachers and students had brought to my attention that the difference in temperature from one yoga studio to the next was extreme I thought there was something really wrong with my central air system, I called the boys from The Comfort Authority Steve and James were awesome! A pesky raccoon had pulled the duct away from the vent and caused some real damage but they were able to find a way to creatively solve the problem without tearing my building apart thus making the repair very affordableNow we are comfortable in every yoga studio! I highly recommend The Comfort Authority to anyone! Thank you, Steve and James

James and Steve over at the The Comfort Authority hooked me up! Literally, they came by for a free maintenance and inspection during which they found a detached duct that was costing me energy and money to keep my house cooled and they re-attached it and performed a full professional cleaning at no cost to me! They were extremely professional, took pictures to show me where I might benefit from some future maintenance and explained the super reasonable maintenance plans they offer with no pressure at all to sign up They were thorough, professional and highly knowledgeable Thanks Comfort Authority!

The Comfort Authority is definitely a company I would recommend. Very prompt, efficient, and honest. They do not try to push any product or service that is unnecessary- a refreshing trait in a company. They go over different options based on your needs and help you in making an educated decision. I have signed up for their services for the next year based on my comfort and trust in them. I highly recommend their products and services to anyone. Thank you

Steve [redacted], the owner and operator of "The Comfort Authority" is personable, helpful, and reliable. He will take the time to sit down with you and explain things in terms you will understand. He will point out the problems with your system and give you the best options. His employees are like this as well. I've had to use Steve twice for two different situations and his crew has been stellar in performance. I would recommend him for any of your AC needs. I am also going to start having him maintenance my AC in my 1925 home.
Just for comparison, I had Red Carpet Air come out to the house before I knew of Steve's company. They couldn't find the leak in my system, and they were very pushy for me to buy a new system for 5k before they even had looked at my unit to know what was wrong with it.
The Comfort Authority is family owned and I have never felt pushed by them, or cheated. I trust them 100% with all my AC needs.

Our A/C suddenly stopped working a little after 9 p.m. last Sunday. We were steeling ourselves for a sweltering summer night, but we gave The Comfort Authority a hopeful call. Steve was at our door literally in minutes. Turns out the drain line was clogged. Our air handler is in the attic, so in the past when the drain line clogged, we often ended up with a wet ceiling in the dining room if the cutoff switch in the drain pan failed. Not this time, thanks to a backup switch that Steve & James installed a year ago to cut the power before any water gets in the drain pan. Hooray! Steve took the time to explain exactly what had happened, how the backup switch worked, and how he flushed the clogged drain. It was a very cool and pleasant night after all!

I got 2 references from people I know. I called those people to come out and give me an estimate. I also spent a lot of time researching to understand everything I could about buying an air conditioner. I didn't have a good feeling about the first person that came out. I could not rave enough about the service, professionalism and quality of The Comfort Authority. I found them on Thumbtack and had never heard of their company. When they came to give us an estimate on replacing our entire unit, they brought 3 very professional people with them and they went in the attic, in every room and thoroughly researched all aspects of what would be needed to give us the best and most efficient system. Before we were able to make a proactive decision, our air conditioner broke down. I contacted them and had an immediate and caring response. They moved things around to accommodate our need immediately. They were timely, professional, thorough, left things immaculate and could have not have been better to deal with. It may seem an over-exaggeration to read all this about an A/C company because there are sub-standards in the market, but I could not recommend them more highly. They used a Goodman handler that is under warranty for 10 years and made in the USA. Do yourself a favor and use them for your next A/C replacement or repair.
