The Company Nail Salon

I have gone to Company Nails located in Yonkers NY, a few times now and it’s never been a positive experience. This past time that I was there, will be the last time I will ever go to Company Nails. If you go into their salon all over their walls you will see signs posted which notes that servicing tips are 20% or more. As per my knowledge tipping is based on the service, and there is no requirement that one must tip a certain amount.
My total amount for the service I got that day was $28.00, I ask that they charge my card an additional $5.00 for the tip, as I sat in the nail cubicle the nail technician got my attention and as I turn my head, I see the owner with six fingers in the air whispering “the tip is supposed to be $6.00”.
I was caught off guard and honestly offended that she would have the audacity to demand such a thing. First not only was it unprofessional, but also if she wants to get technical 20% of $28.00 is $5.60. I am appalled, what they are doing is not proper and this isn’t the first time that they have done this to me nor am I the first client. There are several clients on [redacted] complaining about the same thing.
My request that this be brought to the owner’s attention, to take down the signs, and not demand that the clients tip 20% or more.
