To Whom It May Concern:Here is the true story: The complainant customer was with a friend dining at my restaurantWhen they were finished eating and presented with their bill they both decided that they wanted to split the bill and to have each customer pay 1/the total each on their own debit/credit cardThe waitress swiped the first card and accidentally hit the "enter" button instead of the "split" button thereby charging the total $charge on that cardShe immediately noticed her error and voided the first transaction, then went ahead and charged each card 1/the amount of the check totalUnfortunately, sometimes, both charges will appear on the customers credit card account for 24-hours until their credit card back voids the charge (that charge has since been deleted) My manager had sent an email to the customer explaining what happen on January 25, but I believe since she reported it to the Revdex.com on the same day, that the messages got crossed in the processIn our email to the customer we acknowledged our mistake and offered to send her a gift card but the customer never responded. It is unfortunate that the customer felt "identity theft" was the issue but I cannot blame her for thinking like that with all the identity theft stories we all read about today. If you have any other questions or need additional information please do not hesitate to contact me [redacted]

Revdex.com: The original response I got from the manager was that this always happens when someone uses a debit card My complaint is that if they knew this would happen, why didn't they notify me about it, whether or not it was a mistake? That was my original complaint, not the mistake made by the waitress My bill was supposed to be $but instead it was $ The first manager I spoke to was very condescending and put the blame on me Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
The original response I got from the manager was that this always happens when someone uses a debit card.  My complaint is that if they knew this would happen, why didn't they notify me about it, whether or not it was a mistake?  That was my original complaint, not the mistake made by the waitress.  My bill was supposed to be $26 but instead it was $80.  The first manager I spoke to was very condescending and put the blame on me.

debit/credit card. The waitress swiped the first card and accidentally hit the "enter" button instead of the "split" button thereby charging the total $53.65 charge on that card. She immediately noticed her error and voided the first transaction, then went ahead and charged each card 1/2 the amount of the check total. Unfortunately, sometimes, both charges will appear on the customers credit card account for 24-48 hours until their credit card back voids the charge (that charge has since been deleted).  My manager had sent an email to the customer explaining what happen on January 25, 2016 but I believe since she reported it to the Revdex.com on the same day, that the messages got crossed in the process. In our email to the customer we acknowledged our mistake and offered to send her a gift card but the customer never responded. It is unfortunate that the customer felt "identity theft" was the issue but I cannot blame her for thinking like that with all the identity theft stories we all read about today. If you have any other questions or need additional information please do not hesitate to contact me.
