I have had a terrible experience with CourtBuddy. I was inappropriately charged for a "lead" that was also sent to another attorney. I happen to know the other attorney and he, too, was charged for the lead. That's means that CourtBuddy made $69 from each of us even though only one of us could actually get the lead. They claim to refund the "second attorney," whoever that may be, but neither one of us got a refund. When I contacted customer service about this, they were absolutely unapologetic and unhelpful. In addition to their poor customer service, they have a very stifling customer agreement, which includes mandatory arbitration and a clause barring class action lawsuits.

I am actually really grateful for this business. I just saw a negative review and wanted to give my two cents. I am an attorney in Los Angeles and 90% of my business comes from this site. They have allowed me to keep my doors open. Yes, every client does not result in business for me but that is with any type of marketing I do for my firm. I started with the pay-per-match membership which the complaint was in reference to but switched to another one once the matches picked up and understood that some matches would not result, it's just the nature of the legal industry. I guess some people see things in different ways. For now I am happy with the service and will stop once it doesn't help produce revenue for my firm. **Just thought for what I have received from them, this was the least I could do.

Court Buddy charged both myself and a colleague for the same "exclusive" match. When confronted about it, they passed the blame and simply said that they would refund the second person matched, so long as the second person asks for it. They failed to realize that there are many attorneys out there who would not know if they were a leads second match, unless one of there colleagues happened to bring it up, and, as such, cannot ask for a refund because they do not know that another attorney was already matched with the lead.
Also, watch out for there arbitration clause and the clause barring any class actions.

Yes, would recommend to someone needing an attorney.

Court Buddy claims to match clients with attorneys, screening the potential clients and attorneys to make sure the match is appropriate. As an attorney using the service to gain referrals I quickly discovered this was not the case. I was repeatedly sent emails saying I had messages in my court buddy inbox that I needed to respond to, after opening two I became suspicious. The names and information were very vague and I never received responses, the messages were often regarding information I had given to Court Buddy already and was readily available on my profile. Court Buddy deems each of those messages "matches" and charges you $70 each.
I emailed Court Buddy to tell them my concerns about their "matches" and was never given a response, just sent more "matches".
Every other referal system gives attorneys the opportunity to see where the case is located and the general area of law before charging them for accepting the referral.
Even though I clearly stated I do not cover cases in certain counties I received "matches" from those counties that I was charged for.
Good luck trying to contact anyone there, they do not even have a phone number listed probably because they do not want to have to admit that their system is fake.
