Hi [redacted], I originally thought I submitted this on the website but it didn't go through. Along with the response, I will also send emails of the signed contracts by the customer and before,  during and after pictures that were taken. The front deck steps were not in the contract to...

be completely removed and custom built,  they were re-faced as stated in the contract. After completion of the job, customer called and did say nails were sticking out,  we went back to hammer down any finishing nails and also asked the customer what else he needed us to complete to make him happy,  as our goal is to make sure that our customers are satisfied. We did what was asked including installing siding to the front and back steps for free upon his request. After we were finished customer said he was satisfied with everything. The dog gate was made for the small dogs to not get out, not for any other purpose. In regards to the knots on the wood, I can't control how natural wood is made. Last but not least, the increase in price was made known to the customer due to wood rot and termite damage to  joists beams,  which was seen after removal of carpet and plywood initially. I have been made aware that this customer has a history of complaining against companies to try and get the work done for free, if only I knew this beforehand. Too bad there isn't a place where contractors can forewarn other contractors of customers like this!

First of all , I am not one of those consumer's who complain and want work done for free!!!I am a first time Home Buyer and have never ever used a Contractor  before ! So, I'm not sure where this is going but I do want to say that the work has been done overall rated as a poor job! I will be having an Inspector to review my Porch and go from there! A new deck that was asked for also consist  of new stairs! How would I want a new porch with 25 yr old stairs! Really!!! Now for the gate, I can't even open it! Yes there are knots on the three of the front posts! I know you can't always pick your best material, but come on, even a non construction person notices it! Also our recent rain we had, all the water from the rain falls to the front of my house and front door!!! That's not a problem I asked for, but that's all good with me because I do want what I paid for, not asking for anything than that but a good job. I did question the guy about the stairs and also the Gal who called me about how the job was going and I asked her why are the stairs being reused and the new set that was added on at the other end were made out of plywood! So I'm not asking for a $20,000 deck for $5,00 as I was told ! If this is how this Outfit works, the performance will be seen by others that have asked about my porch and I tell them do you want this done to your home?? Not very good answers and I'm not one to bring you down, it's your work and performance that will! It's too bad that we as paying customers have to deal with bad outfits like [redacted]! I guess my only option is to go to the next step. I did see him at my neighbors and asked for him to at least stop in and address what he had done the second time and he rejected because I called and reported this, and yes, words were exchanged and not in a professional manner on both parties. I'm not sure why, but why would I want a new porch and no steps along with it. Isn't that considered part of the porch!!!
