[redacted] I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] < [redacted] 9:AM (hours ago)tomeIn response to [redacted] ’s response to my original complaintThere are a few discrepancies in what [redacted] ’s portrays as factual, first of all [redacted] was the General Contractor on the exterior part of the house, the permits for the exterior addition, roof, framing, windows, porch, siding , foundations, and demolition of rear of house were pulled by Rohana Construction on January 12,The permits will be provided if necessary[redacted] was in charge of hiring these contractors, I do not know who did the roof, if there was a sub contractor or if he did it himselfA man names John Gamble did the exterior windows and wood clapboard siding, one of [redacted] s workers a man named Leo did the framingThese are the only people I metI did not hire them nor contract with them, I contracted with Rohana Builders, with contracts to show what was expected and what was performed[redacted] is stating that the roof with the low pitch is fine, so far, he is correct, I told him I was not having a problem with that roofThe problem we are having is in our master bedroom, the subcontractor plumber ( a man that [redacted] uses regularly ,in particular a recent job on Pearl St in West Cape May, that I recommended, my friend ) and HVAC , did run pipes to the roofThis is NOT where the problem is occurring [redacted] states it was directly underneath, this is a fallacy The pipes are at least feet away, we are now having a leak at the corner of the roof, furthest away from the pipe [redacted] fails to mention the leak on the porch of the home, it has rotted through and now has a hole in itUpon examination [redacted] s hand almost went through the porch ceiling, he made a comment about me complaining about the plywood directly underneath the leakLuckily I was not able to afford to install the wood mahogany on the porch, as it would have been ruined by nowThe wood on the porch ceiling needs to be replaced, as well as sheetroc [redacted] also for some reason finds the need to say he waited for a year to be paid, [redacted] made the decision to go ahead with the work, he was aware of our need to sell a house in Philadelphia to get the funds to finish the jobWe were concerned about [redacted] doing any work till we finished as we did not want to be indebted until we were are to sell the home, he stated that we were nice people and he trusted usAs it was at one of the worst times of the market the home took almost a year to sell [redacted] at no time asked for funds or was denied funds Once the home sold we owed [redacted] a sum of money that was promptly paid, we then in earnest started our renovationWhich went smoothly, as with any job, we had a few concerns, that were remedied by [redacted] ( except one) One that stands out, was the placement of the staircase in the living room, the last step protruded into a bedroom door way opening which would have resulted in a 22” bedroom door on a room that was going to be a handicapped bath for my father in law [redacted] was trying to tell my husband it was acceptable, which was not acceptable to us whatsoeverIt was moved at our next inspectionOne issue not resolved that ended our otherwise good relationship with [redacted] was the installation of the hardware on expensive rear French wood doors, the interior hardware was installed inside and inside lever is on the outside of the doors When I complained [redacted] did a [redacted] impression of not getting respectI sent him photos of the error and he did nothing about it, it still looks ridiculous to this day, but changing now would call for repair of the wood doorSaying I was the General Contractor and Architect is a bit of a stretch , the State of New Jersey must have very lax rules for its professionals if I qualify as an architect or a general contractor I did not provide any drawings, specifications of any kind to [redacted] , we spoke every step of the wayI have over emails, none showing specifications or drawings.The sad part about all of this is we got along wellwe had the same vision for the house and we were happy with outcomeI had always felt bad that we left things the way we did over the rear door hardware ending our relationship.I did not have any trouble with any of the sub contractors I chose, it seems that I am having trouble with the subcontractors [redacted] chose for us [redacted] commented on us saving money, he is correct we saved on every one we contacted with as [redacted] would have gotten a portion of what he charged us for the work for each contractor.One especially lucky decision for us was the plumber ,who [redacted] is now accusing of making a mistake, the plumber [redacted] recommended for the job ,who actually worked on the house plumbing ,hired by our plumber gave us a higher estimate with less work being done [redacted] s plumber was not installing a new soil line to the street, he said we did not need oneThe plumber we hired said we would have been in the house one week and had a problem, he said the soil line had two degree turns in itWe felt very happy to have chosen him He did better layouts for the bathroom and we were pleased with the work.Buying our home and being able to do an renovation was a once in a lifetime experience for us, which is now turning in a nightmare I have contacted with a roofer, who is replacing and the work should be stated this week, he has stated that he will have photos and a report on the ills of the roofWhich also along with permits can be Response:Customers complaint seems to be roof issueOne being that a roof is too low in slope for shinglesThis roof she states doesn't leak The other roof issue is leak in second floor master bedroom Here is my responseCustomer was both general contractor and owner architect on this project Issue number one, roof is low slope for shinglesI framed roof to pitch designed on plans and followed specifications by using roof shingles owner requestedAs owner states this roof Doesn't leak Issue twoRoof leak in master bedroom is a result of one of her subcontractors ,plumber or hvac contractor made hole in roof directly above where leak isThe roof I installed there as a subcontractor didn't leak for more than a year, until her contractor made penetration in roof and more than likely didn't seal properly In summation , owner was general contractor, architect and supervisor of all work on this projectNone of my work was found to be defective as owner paid me for work, even though I had to wait a whole year for owner to come up with funds , which during that entire year no problems were reported until after her contractors worked on roof area where leak is presentI never provided a warranty to her nor was one ever requestedOwner wanted to be general contractor to save money even though she had no experience or expertise against my recommendation , these are the types of problems that occur when you value savings over quality I bear no responsibility for these issues nor am I willing pay for her ineptitude Yours Truly, [redacted]

Responding to *** ***The owner was the general contractor for this project, sheselected,supervised and paid various contractors on project such ascarpentry, electrical, plumbing,hvac, insulation,drywall,painting etc Theowner was architect of projectIn the state of njYou need to either hirea licensed architect or you are allowed to be owner/ architectThe ownerdid not want to spend money on architect so this was her choice Since sherequested me to pay $10,for a new roof I watched *** *** roofing andsiding replace approximately 20% of her roof, not the whole roof I spoke tothe roofing foreman that performed the work on her house last week and hetold me there were a couple holes drilled into her roof as well as somescrews in roof which of course should never beAny of these defects weredone long( at least a year) after I was done.The fact that owner was trying to shake me down for $10,when all sheneeded was a repair of roof, and the fact the roofer only replacedapproximately 20% speaks to the character of ownerOne of the owners isserving a jail term after federal government charged him w/ stealing moneyfrom a playground civic association in Philadelphia and the other owner, hiswife was charged w/ tax fraud for lying on tax returnHer charges weredropped as part of husbands conviction I makes these last facts clear asliars and thieves are accusing me, all the while it is their apparentstandard method of business This whole process is a waste of my timeIf theowner didn't pay me for a year when there were no problems,then did pay andhired other subcontractors who were on roof and made holes in it why do Ihave to keep going through thisThese owners are thieves and I wish I nevermet them *** ***
