The Cunningham Fix Reviews (2)

I am rejecting this response because:
This statement is completely false. The contractor was pulled off due to quality of work as seen in the pictures. We proceeded with another contractor which invalidates the theory that we were going to do the work ourselves or couldn’t afford the work. This contractor promised quality he could not deliver and because of his lack of experience caused damage to our home that resulted in more time and money on our end. Copies of pictures and complaint has also been sent the the Attorney Generals office for review.

he customer in question is asking a refund on services not rendered by our company The Cunningham Fix.  Our company was pulled from the project prior to finishing the project at the customers request.  The customer has already disputed the deposit charge on their credit card in which the...

funds were immediately returned to the customer until a decision regarding the charges has been made.  At this point, we will not be refunding anything since the funds have already been returned to the customer and we have not received notification regarding the current ongoing dispute.  Once a decision has been made we will meet with our legal council again to discuss the outcome.  Initially when we received notice about the dispute we contacted our legal council who advised us to cease all contact with the customer.  The customer is claiming that work was not completed and not to industry standards.  We were originally quoted 5 days for interior repairs and finishing.  Later on the customer advised us we only had 4 days on the interior which we agreed was possible.  The morning of day 4 we were advised that the customers did not "think we could complete the job in time" even though we advised them that more than 75% of the project was completed and we had a team of employees coming over to finish out the interior work that day.  This is the first time that the customers have made mention of counter top damages caused by us which we find a little odd that this dispute began over 2 months ago and they never mentioned anything of the sort.  If the customer believes we caused countertop damages we would be willing to look at any evidence they have and discuss with our legal council.  We will compare it to the video and photographs that we have of the property over the course of the 4 days we were on site and the video we have of the property upon exiting.  The customer made mention while we were on site that the countertop s were "outdated" and "original" to the build of the home.  Even in the last correspondence we had with the customers no mention of countertop damage was made.  The holes in the walls were to remove the previous owners speaker equipment at the customers requests.  Most were mudded and needed sanded down which would have then been finished with paint.  We were not provided the opportunity to complete that.  Throughout the process and even upon exiting.  Mr. [redacted] was overly satisfied with the quality of work and the speed in which things were being completed.  He was also concerned because his wife was extremely stressed out with the home buying processes and finances.  Even upon exiting he asked if we would be willing to come back and bid a bathroom remodel down the line when their finances had recovered.  Not once did he mention that he was dissatisfied with our company or the work that had been completed and placed much of the blame on his wife.  We advised him that the materials that were purchased for the project were in the garage nice and neat and that there would be a final invoice for the billable hours we had into the project.  He said "Okay, thank you, I'll take care of it".  To date the customer still owes us for the billable hours that had into the project.   Prior to leaving the project we had cut in all rooms that the customer had asked us to paint.  We had completely painted a few rooms including most of a hallway with large cathedrial ceilings.  Flooring was starting to be laid but I do believe Mrs. [redacted] was upset that we were unable to tie it into the previous flooring in the hallway.  The customers asked us to use flooring the previous homeowner had left on site.  Once we opened the flooring many pieces were damaged and warped.  We advised the customer due to the lack of flooring and the amount of damaged product, the only way to lay the floors would be vertical and to use a transition from the hallway to the family area.  Otherwise if we tried to tie it into the hallway flooring we could damage additional pieces and not have enough to complete the room.  At that point we would then be taking the liability of replacing the entire 1st floor, flooring which is not something as a company could not risk.  We later learned the customer sold that particular flooring which we can only assume the next contractor that came in advised them of what we had already told them. We are saddened that this has come to this point.  We strive everyday to reverse the negative stigma within our field.  We volunteer and donate back to our community through our business and we go above and beyond to leave every customer satisfied.    Even when we bid the project for these customers they mentioned finances being extremely tight and we came down to help them afford the renovations they wanted done.  They told us the deposit was higher than they were expecting so we also negotiated that in their favor as well.  Even upon exiting when we charge billable hours we gave them a MAJOR discount since they said they would likely finish the project themselves and we assumed the real reason for calling us off of the project was a financial decision (due to Mr. [redacted]'s multiple comments of satisfaction".  What's most disappointing with this particular case is that we were not afforded the opportunity to even complete the project and were simply removed because they didn't think it would be completed in time.  We have multiple photos, video, recordings, emails and text messages to not only prove customer satisfaction but that the work they did receive was at and above industry standards!
