that I would need to contact her back after 12 pm with a response.After receiving confirmation that I can indeed release her from the lease. I contacted her that afternoonto let her know that I approved for her to be released from the lease and would give a refund back forthe pro-rated rent, pet fees and deposit she paid at move-in, the application fees, administration feesand security deposit would not be refundable. She verbally agreed to the terms and came in on Tuesday,June 21, 2016 to surrender the apartment keys and was given in return three money order totaling$696.93 to settle your complaint. To Whom It may Concern,     We are hereby responding to the complaint we received in regards to the utility bills at The Dakota.  Let me explain to you that the letter we set out was for the utility billing period of April 15, 2015 to May 15, 2015.  This letter does not pertain...

to Mr. Joshua Reed’s apartment due to the fact that he moved in in June of 2015.  We sent a general letter reminding residents that their utility bills would be due in a few days because we were getting them ready to go out.  Meaning that they would have until August 1, 2015 to pay their utility bills.  We also mentioned that they could pay an approximate amount based on what they had paid the previous month if they wanted to pay earlier so that on the first they would not have two month’s worth of utility bills.  The reason why the utility bills were delayed was due to new ownership on May 19, 2015.  This meant that with the change in utility companies our July 1 ,2015 utility bills were delayed and would now be due on August 1, 2015.  In regards to Mr[redacted] coming to the office to talk about the utility bills, our office hours are Monday thru Friday 9-6pm.  He arrived after 6:20pm and the office was already closed, he started banging on the office door and when he saw the Assistant Manager inside.  Since they are not allowed to open the door after closing when they are alone in the office, she told the resident can you please come back tomorrow or I can call you in the morning because the office is closed.  He started to scream and started to curse and even banged harder on the door.  That is when she told him that she would be calling the police if he did not refrain from cursing and banging on the door.  After she left she noticed him waiting for her in his vehicle and continued to use profanity towards  her.  I sat down with Mr[redacted] in the days following this incident and explained to him that since our utility bills are billed in arrears this notice did not pertain to him because it was for utility billing from April-May and he moved in in June.  I also told him it was not polite to curse at an employee and that because they have to follow policy employees are not allowed to let anyone in the office after hours when they are alone.    In regards to the pool and the gates, we are currently getting proposals to get these repaired as soon as we can.  Thank you for your patience and we hope this clarifies any confusion.   Thank you!       [redacted]   The Dakota [redacted]
