The Dental Center/Gravois Bluffs

I have not seen this patient in my office since I've taken over the business for *** ***. When *** *** sold the business, he kept his accounts. I have no control over the accounts before Janurary 31, 2017. After reviewing the account and the notes that was produced on here and speaking with the office staff, it appears that everything was done that could possibly be done on the Dental Center's behalf. There were numerous times this claim was submitted to *** *** ***, but because the code was a Dental code, the insurance was sending it over to the dental of which this member did not have dental insurance through *** *** ***. The front office staff asked *** *** what should be done, and *** *** suggested that the member try and submit the code to his own medical insurance as we were not successful at having it paid. The member was sent a letter stating that the Dental Center does not do crosscoding and that the member would need to submit this on his own. The front office staff continued to submit this claim even after the letter was submitted because the member had refused to submit on his own behalf stating that it was the Dental Centers duty to do so. In every effort, the Dental Center does submit claims, but after denials, it is up to the member to submit claims or pay the balance remaining. After over a year, *** *** retired and ordered that the member be sent to collections for non payment. Again, I, *** *** took over the practice on 2/1/and have no knowledge of this member
