The Dental Implant Place Reviews (5)

On September 21, 2017, I had an appointment at *** *** *** *** to find out if *** *** would finish putting dental imlants in my mouth that was partially completed by a previous dentist I completed all of the paperwork, signed the required forms and was convinced by *** that *** *** NEEDED a scan to make that determination at a cost of $to me She said I could see him without a scan, but, that he would not be able to make a decision without one I relayed to *** *** why I wanted someone other than my original dentist to finish the job After much discussion, *** *** advised me to go back to the original dentist and have an issue resolved At that time he told both my husband and myself if there was a problem with it or couldn't be done, I should give him a call back I paid the $for the scan and left the office without the procedures plan and a copy of the scan I also was not supplied with a copy of thepaperwork that I signed That same week,

I started the process of getting my implants in October and I still have my dentures It is May I have called several times I have contacted my attorney this week in regards to my permanent teeth I maybe pursuing a malpractice suit should I not hear from these folks by the end of this week

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  The discs of the scan that was sent were totally black where the pictures were suppoed to be rendering them usless.
Regards,
[redacted]

[redacted]   We very much appreciate your visiting [redacted].  We are sorry that you are left with a less than favorable impression of your visit.   While it is true that you visited on September 21, paid $100 for a CT Scan and left without a copy of the CT Scan, it...

is not true that we refused to give it to you.  We provide a copy to any patient who asks for one, either the day of their appointment or afterwards. Further, no one on our staff has any recollection of you requesting a copy of the CT scan or copies of the two consents that you signed.  You reviewed and signed an electronic version of the two consents, but we always provide a printed copy to anyone who asks for it—-either during the appointment or afterwards.   [redacted] spent an hour with you on your appointment, reviewing the scan in detail and communicating to you his findings. It absolutely WAS necessary for him to see the scan to see that the implants that the previous dentist had placed, as well as the remaining dentition that you wanted replaced.  Based upon the scan and what he could see of your bridgework, he did not see anything done wrong by the previous dentist.  Any changes you desired  could have been easily rectified by her, had she been made aware.  You repeatedly complained about [redacted]’s work, the staff, and the entire experience but admitted to us that you had not voiced your dissatisfaction to [redacted].      After thoroughly reviewing the scan, discussing your complaints and examining your mouth, [redacted] recommended that you go back to [redacted] to fine tune the dental work to your satisfaction. He also went into  detailed reasons it would be ideal if that dentist finished the work. He also expressed his concern about your unwillingness to give [redacted] the opportunity to address these issues.  Many dental cases require small changes or fine tuning once the prosthesis has been delivered.  Sometimes the dentist will need to polish, re-shape or adjust some things after the patient has had a chance to live with their new teeth.  Like [redacted], most dentists want to please their patients and are happy to do this kind of fine tuning.    When you found out that [redacted] was no longer in practice, you called our office on the following Monday and spoke with [redacted], asking her to ask [redacted] if he would reconsider doing your case.  She told you that she would visit with him and get back to you, but made no promises about when.  In this phone call, you never mentioned that you wanted a copy of the scan or consents. She did discuss the request with [redacted] who had, up to that point, not decided whether or not to accept your case; he needed more time to review the scan and consider your case.  We’re sorry for the delay in responding, but we have had very little time since your visit as we’ve worked late almost every day.   We are happy to provide a copy of your CT Scan; we will mail the scan along with copies of the consents you are now requesting.   It’s unfortunate that we weren’t able to help you but it sounds like you have found another dentist at the previous office to resolve your issue.   Thank you again for visiting [redacted].

The paperwork and CT Scan have been certified mailed since the patient says she did not receive what was already sent.
