The Discount Warehouse Reviews (%countItem)

The Discount Warehouse sold me a truck of overstock that was suppose to have 40,000 items on it. It arrived with only 7,000. I contacted them and told them that I do not accept the load and was informed by Diana that I could not refuse the load. Then, we I contacted them about refunding me the over-payment on the truck, they told me that I could not get a refund because I had accepted the load. They've given me the run around, stole mt money. I do NOT recommend doing business with this company. I'm not the first person this has happened to. If I could leave a zero-star rating, I would.

The Discount Warehouse Response • Nov 22, 2019

We hate to hear that you've had such a bad experience with your load, and I know an apology isn't necessarily what your'e looking for but on behalf of TDW. We apologize once again. As part of our business model, we do not touch or manipulate your load. These loads ship directly from the department stores (which in most cases is the biggest benefit to you). We have offered you several solutions to you, but you refused those options. We did NOT steal your money by any means because you did receive merchandise that is sell-able. We have paperwork from you stating a refund is not possible on this type of load, and we have explained that the load is Returns, Shelf Pulls, and overstock. We are more than willing to work with you so you can recoup from this situation. Once again we are here to help with your situation so please contact us.

We are starting with a TDW purchasing operation, to carry and market the merchandise in Venezuela, we hope to succeed and the possibility of gradually expanding the business, having TDW as a preferred supplier for now, so far I can evaluate service and attention to customer, with timely response levels and satisfactory advice, especially to Diana and Wendy, the shopping experience was really satisfactory, in a week I receive the products and we hope to once again be highly de-qualified the result of the purchase, we hope to count on you as supplier allied to our business.

Purchased two truckloads with this company. First one was incomplete and second one was not as described and unable for resale.
I would like to share my experience about this company and recommend that you do your own research before you do any type of business with TDW. On April 30 we reached out to them and spoke to their sales person and she was very friendly at first telling me how they have been in business for 35 years, how she works with liquidators around me. I explained that we were a small family owned company and wanted to try other liquidators to get merchandise. She explained how they get truck loads right out of the facility center directly to me and how successful they have been for years. I told her that I was interested in a furniture load or maybe a sporting good load but I had a budget. She pushed and pushed and messaged me over and over to "Break the Ice" and buy a load from them. I asked her about the furniture load and she offers me a load for $7750 delivered and expressed how she was giving me an extra great deal and how this load would have between "XXX-XXX" pieces. Once we received the load we counted the pieces and we received 98 pieces I called to see if there was a misunderstanding or if something was missing and at first her response was let me look into it and I will get back to you. I was like what happen to the pushy person who wanted to Break the Ice? now that there is an issue she seems to not respond so quickly. After days of going back and forth and her blaming the company who loaded the truck her solution to the problem was to offer a "CREDIT" for another truck. She said I can get you such a great deal please lets do business again and gave me two options a credit on a Sporting Goods Truckload of $1000 or $2000 on a big box retailer overstock out of Arkansas. so obviously I am going to take the larger credit we had already lost money on the first load. So we get a second truckload. it comes a day early and when I open it up it was full of 3 SkU's that were incomplete. Literally the entire truckload was patio tables box 2of2 , patio chairs of a different set box 1of 2 with missing legs and trampolines box 1of 2. I immediately called and I was told that she was in a meeting and that she would reach back to me. She then sent me a message saying check the entire load that I need to open the boxes and gave me a hard time about calling. since it was the end of the day for them we got no response back. I called the next morning and was told to give her 30 mins because she just walked in. So we sent pictures of the load and they first tell us that this was *** that it was loaded this way "again its the company who loaded it fault" they would look into it and see how we can resolve this. Then they get me in contact with the Shipping guy to try to be the diplomatic guy but why is shipping involved again where is the sales lady who was so quick to make a sale? She is the most rudest person I have ever spoken to. She speaks over you and tells you how ignorant you are because its not there fault and how me as the customer have no idea what I am speaking about. So Friday was a waste of a day back and forth with no solution just excuses. Then Monday it was a back and forth with this rude sale person yelling at me and even saying that I call to CRY about my load. Are you serious? I then provided what I thought would be a simple solution but they refused to refund anything or make it right. For them the solution was to give me another credit on a different truck load. Who can do business with a company like this. That nice sales person who wanted to break the ice is just a con who wants to break the bank and then when there is an issue its everyone else fault and she goes on a screaming match over the phone with you. They are very rude and avoid to assist the customer and blame the customer and the retail who loaded it.

Desired Outcome

I think a fair resolution to this was a refund back of a portion of the truckload. they offered credit and I refuse to keep giving this company money to get incomplete items. I would like a partial Refund made back to our company.

The Discount Warehouse Response • Jun 07, 2019

The customer received everything he ordered, He all ways complain to all vendors he is trying to get money back from very vendor he buy from this guy is a scam.
In this market all the vendor knows each other and we talk to each other everyday many vendors stop selling him because he complain for no reason.

Customer Response • Jun 07, 2019

The response from TDW is totally inaccurate. We have a very successful buying experience from the two vendors we buy from and continue to do business as well new suppliers. Unless you can provide some type of proof to your statement you should deter from making false statements. The truth of the matter is that The Discount Warehouse is the "SCAM" who has hurt many small businesses throughout the United States and Latin America check Google and other search engine for the facts. The facts are that they have done this to other businesses and as stated customer and vendors do talk and that's why The Discount Warehouse has a bad reputation throughout the industry and is highly avoided by others. As you see in my statement at no point was I seeking money back at first. If what I am saying is false and all I am doing is creating an issue to get my money back then why is it that TDW sales person acknowledge the mistake and offers the credit. The first issue was due to an incomplete load where the Sales Person from TDW stated that, It was not their fault and that the merchandise was mistakenly left in the warehouse where it got loaded to the truck. Then the story changed to that it was not that many pieces yet we have it in writing what the piece count was. Then once I continued to call to try to get a resolution the sales person response was to provide a credit of $2000 for the big box retailer overstock items out of Arkansas or $1000 credit for the Sporting Store load. We went with the larger credit due to the first loss we took. Your sales person tried to push us on the Sporting goods load but we decided to go with the big box retailer. Issue #2 was that second load that came incomplete and as your sales person described should have never shipped out that way. Again all of this is in writing. It was TDW sales team and shipping team who said that they were going to correct this issue and after days of wasting time and going back and forth with pictures it was your sales team once again who offered another credit of $2500. At that moment was when I stated to issue me the credit as a refund that I would not accept another credit since we have already lost money with your company. So don't say that that I complain to all vendors to get my money back because that is not true. The fact of the matter is that dating back since the early 2000's your company has ripped off hundreds of customers and companies and when your faced with one who is willing to let others know about their experience you call and message with your threats. The difference about your response and mine is that I don't take weeks to reply with an untruthful statement. Everything I have listed is listed in WhatsApp conversations that I can provide as proof with your sales team and picture of loads via text. Google your company and you will see the many complaints that you have from Real people. Real companies that people can call and they can explain their experience not fake reviews. You may have 30 plus years in the industry but how many of those have been by ripping people off. We are a small family owned, United States Veteran own business who takes pride in providing excellent customer service and treating our customers with the respect they deserve for giving us an opportunity to earn their business. For a company that has been in business for 30 years you definitely lack the respect for your customers. I reached out to you with a respectful message to see if you as the owner can look into it the multiple issues you from there decided to voice message back with threats of harm. Then you called with additional threats and no solution. You're more than welcome to refer to the Jacksonville Sheriff Office police report that was filed if you need any more proof of that. Again I am not the first company you have done this to and I am sure I am not the last. As people in the industry have stated they don't know how you have got away with this for so long. I hope that I am able to shed light about my experience and people do their research prior to doing business with TDW.

Complaint Case #: XXXXXXXX
Consumer: ***

Good afternoon !!

We already send you all the information in regards to this case , the customer signed the terms of agreement attached , stating clearly the loads maybe damage , used and others , we still offer him $2000 credit to satisfy the customer and he still refuses to accept

Is nothing else we can do to this matter , especially when he was aware of the products he gets .

Customer Response • Jun 11, 2019

What TDW fails to realize is they acknowledged mistakes from two loads we purchased from them . We are not talking about small inconsistencies we are talking about many huge mistakes and very misleading representation . This is a pattern with this company and their way of getting out of it is by having their customers sign this agreement. As I have said many times in this back and forth and to TDW a credit for another truck isn't sufficient since they had two chances to make it right and it was worse each time . A 2000 refund is the only solution to this issue and in my eyes still doesn't do this situation justice . If they cannot agree to this then as I mentioned before I'm prepared to take the legal route with many others also scammed by this company and will also seek damages for the death threats and many other threats sent by the owner which we also have in a Voice recording along worth the filed police reports . Again this is the same run around this company does with everyone to avoid the real issue and solutions needed.unfortunately this tactic won't work any longer .

Agreed to spend $8390 on a truckload of housewares, kitchenware, general merchandise and a "few" Xmas items. I received 36 pallets of salvage Xmas.
On March 18, 2019 I purchased a truckload from *** for $8390 that was suppose to be 36-40 pallets of Kohls kitchenware, housewares, general merchandise and a "few" Xmas items. These were suppose to be overstock, shelf-pulls & customer returns. When *** mentioned Xmas items, I was perfectly clear with her when I told her I didn't want the load to be heavy with Xmas. She guaranteed me it would not be, but would have "a few" xmas items here and there. I was okay with that as that is normal for this time of the year. I paid the cost via wire transfer. After *** received the money, she sent me an email with an attached Agreement for me to sign. I read it over and called her back to say I wasn't happy with the wording, since the word Salvage was used. She stated that the same form was used for all purchases no matter what the load was. Dummy me believed her and signed it. Her script is obviously well rehearsed and executed. Fast forward to delivery day. What I received were 36 pallets of xmas junk!!! Strategically placed in each pallet was ONE broken non-xmas item. When I called ***, she said that it wasn't her fault that there are "dumb workers" at the warehouse where the pallets came from. She said she would discuss this with Kohls. (buying time) The next day, she became defensive and said there wasn't anything she could do because it was Kohls fault. I reminded her that I was her customer and not Kohls' and that she needed to make things right with me and deal with Kohl's on her own. Each time I spoke with her she would ask for 2 days, then 3 days, then next week to get things fixed. Result was just more BS out of her mouth. I sent her numerous pictures of the broken merchandise and she would say things like "I know. Believe me, I know" (I have a recording of her saying this). She offered me credit on another purchase. I informed her I would never purchase anything from her again. Then she added $1000 refund to the solution. I reminded her that I paid $8390 and all I got was garbage. She told me that maybe I needed to go through things and "make them look nice" so I can sell them. I told her there was no way to make these items look nice because they are broken or missing parts. I asked multiple times to speak to the owner, Mr. ***. *** always said that wasn't possible. So I sent Mr. a message on facebook. Within 5 minutes of sending that message *** called me and not happy that I did that. Mr. didn't even have the decency to answer my message or call me (I sent my number in that message). Since this has happened to me, I did some deep searching(yes, I should have done this prior to purchasing) and have found out I'm not alone with these same complaints. All their positive reviews are from fake accounts with fake profile pictures. I even discussed this with *** and she laughed and told me it wasn't true but some companies can pay to have positive reviews placed for the business. Hmmmmmm. I am devastated by this whole ordeal. Being scammed is bad any way you look at it but for this amount is causing me great financial stress. TDW Closeouts (The Discount Warehouse) should not be allowed to do this to anyone anymore!!!!

Desired Outcome

I initally told *** to pick the load up and refund me the entire amount. She advised that picking the load up "Was not going to happen" due to the cost but she will "fix this". I am now asking the Revdex.com to help me recieve a complete 100% refund. My money has been tied up for over a month and I'm left with an empty bank account as well as no merchandise for my customers. I have monthly overhead bills to pay for my business, yet I have nothing to sell at this point. I'm losing customers and will not be able to pay my bills at the end of the month.

The Discount Warehouse Response • Apr 16, 2019

Hello ***,

I can understand your concern. However, we have been in business for over 30 years. Before any client makes a purchase we make it a point to inform them of the type of product we work with; shelf pulls, overstock, and returns directly from the department stores. Every load contain different liquidation. You even signed the terms of agreements which state the possible outcomes and conditions of the product.
We tried to fix this matter by giving you $4,000 credit, $2,000 refund and you refused. Unfortunately we can't refund you the full amount because, as I said, you were aware of the assortment with Christmas merchandise and the conditions that you would receive.

Customer Response • Apr 17, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Being in business for over 30 years has nothing to do with what happened to me and to others that have this same complaint against TDW. Your actions, step by step, are a rehearsed script. Reading your other customer's complaints sound EXACTLY the same as mine. I'm 100% aware of what a liquidated truckload of merchandise should look like. I've bought hundreds of them. *** and I agreed on my purchased truckload being "closeouts, shelf pulls, and customer returns with a few Christmas items in the mix". A "few" Christmas items is perfectly normal when buying a truckload in March (after the holidays). But, I also know that buying a SALVAGE CHRISTMAS truckload after Christmas will cost between $500-$1000, which is what TDW did and then turned around and sold it to me for $8390. Like I said in my initial complaint, *** sent me the terms of agreement to sign AFTER I had already wired TDW my $8390 (which is another part of their scripted scam). Not to mention, I specifically discussed the wording of the terms of agreement with ***, explaining that I didn't agree because my load was to contain overstock (new merchandise), shelf pulls(box damage) and customer returns. She answered that concern in an audio clip sent directly to my cell phone. Now here's the kicker to their scam. Any important information, such as *** reassuring me that my truckload was overstock, shelf pulls and customer returns was always done via an audio clip in a text message. I later learned, that those clips are only accessible for a short time and then disappear. Conveniently!! But once I discovered this, I started recording them from another device and I have one that has *** agreeing with me when I clearly stated I wasn't happy because this was all junk.
As for ***'s offer. I agreed to accept the offer of $4000 credit and $2000 cash refund as long as the credit was used in the way I chose to do so. I requested that they send me a $4000 load. I was quickly turned down. Why? Because they wasn't me to use that $4000 credit towards a more expensive load, a $8000-$15,000 load, which in turn makes me spend more money with them and also allows them to make more of a profit off of me. (Another complaint from other customers) ITS THEIR SCAM SCRIPT!! I explained to *** that I can't trust her after what she did to me and I refuse to hand over anymore of my money to them. I have attached pictures of the TRASH that I received. I was limited to 10 pictures but I have plenty more.

The Discount Warehouse Response • Apr 30, 2019

Hello ***,
We've never said shelf-pulls would be open boxes ONLY, we explained to you what is overstock, returns and shelf-pulls. *** told you the load could be a mix of overstock (new pieces), shelf-pulls (merchandise touched by people, may be dirty, without or damaged boxes, without battery, etc) and customer returns (may be used merchandise, dirty, without boxes or even new).
We explained to you that every load contain different liquidations, that we move the merchandise directly from department store warehouses to our clients. We don't touch or see the loads.
We also explained to you, to make sure you understood, that some merchandise you may had to clean, fix, change a battery, put in a box or a nice presentation, etc.

You told us, you were in this type of business for a long long time so you were aware of how this business work.

We are not scam, we are a wholesale liquidation company.

We've tried to do our best to make you happy with a credit and a refund. I'm sorry but it's impossible for us to do a whole refund or a load for free, since you've received your load, we were always honest with you about our company, what we do, the loads, the merchandise, etc.

About the AUDIO, that's not true, we use Telephone, WhatsApp and E-mails to communicate with our clients. We have the e-mails (proof explaining about what our business does and the type of merchandise we sell). We would never delete messages exactly because of what YOU just said: *** reassuring me that my truckload was overstock, shelf pulls and customer returns.

What *** said to you, plus the e-mails and the terms you signed, is a lot of proof that you were aware of the merchandise and how our business works.

Customer Response • May 03, 2019

Document Attached***
There is absolutely no truth to anything in your response.
*** and I discussed SPECIFICALLY that I didn't want a load heavy with Christmas items but I was okay with "a few here and there" since that was normal for that time of year. What did I get??? A load that was ALL Christmas and on top of that it was ALL SALVAGE CHRISTMAS!!
I notice that your response contained no mention of the load being all Christmas.
*** NEVER mentioned that items would need to be fixed, or cleaned, etc. until AFTER I received the load and was complaining that everything was broken. She then told me to fix things to "make them look nice" so my customers would want to buy them. I would have never bought a load that would require me to fix everything before presenting it to my customers. That's not how this business is suppose to work.
Now for the audio. *** did most of the correspondence with me via text messaging. I'm including screenshots of those text messages. One of which shows that there was an audio clip sent.
Please take a look at the time stamping of when my money was sent via wire transfer and when she sent the agreement to sign. All part of the scam...sending the agreement AFTER the money is sent. I'm not the only customer of yours that has complained about that. I'm attaching a screenshot of the text message from me telling her we did not discuss my load being salvage and all returns like the agreement states. That's when she called me and said that it is a generic agreement that is used for all loads, regardless of what they are. Why did she call me to answer? SO THAT THERE IS NO PAPER TRAIL!!! Like I said before, it's a well planned, rehearsed and executed script.
Your company makes it their job to scam individuals out of their money. Absolutely disgraceful.

So far I am content with doing business with TDW. Not everything is nice and pretty but it's allowed my business to grow and my customers to be happy.

Mr. *** visited our warehouse in Florida, in which he saw the handbags himself, placed the order and took the merchandise with him. He was asked by his sales representative if he had dealt with liquidations before and his reply was he did have prior experience selling this kind of products. He was also told that the merchandise contained defect or damages that he needed to fix before reselling them and he agreed as he saw the merchandise himself at the warehouse. Although he knew all this, we offered him a credit that can be applied towards the next purchases because it is imperative to us, to provide the best customer service to our clients.
we encourage Mr. ***, to contact his sales representative again to resolve this matter in the best way possible for both parties.

As it was mentioned before, this customer visited our warehouse, he inspected the merchandise himself and took it with him. He was fully aware of the merchandise that he was buying and he also stated that he had a lot of experience with liquidations as it was not his 1st time buying it. However, we offered him credit for the handbags we wasn't happy with, we tried our best, but unfortunately we cannot give him the money back since he chose the merchandise himself when he visited the warehouse.
we encourage the client to reach out to his sales representative for a solution to this matter.
thanks.

Company is a scam. Buyers Beware
I do not want to do further business with this company. It is a scam. They lie and cheat their buyers. Please google this company first before investing in the company or you will be sorry

Desired Outcome

I would like this company to never contact me again in any form of communication

The Discount Warehouse Response

Checking on our data base, we have no record of *** as client of ours. We encourage her to show proof that she has bought from us or any invoice that can proof this. Otherwise we strongly request her or Revdex.com to remove this complaint that does not belong to us.
thanks.

Pallets delivered damaged over 3 months ago and I still have not received a resolution. I continue to get the run around and is extremely frustrated.
On April 19, 2017 I purchased two pallets of assorted merchandise from TDW Closeouts with invoice #XXXXX. The invoice included prepaid freight.

When the pallets were delivered on May 2nd they were almost totally damaged. The driver immediately reported the damages to AAA Cooper Transportation. Delivery that was schedule to be delivered on May 1st in the morning was not made until after 7 on May 2nd. I could not reach TDW Closeouts at the time so I contacted them the next day.

A claim was filed once all the required docs and pictures were received on May 8th. As of today August 10th I am still waiting for my money back and my garage have been storage for all this damage products that I cannot sell. In the meantime I am getting the run around and still have not received my money back to replace the damage goods.

I purchased from TDW Closeouts, I have tried to reach out to *** on many occasions and she does nothing but promises to call me back but never does. She promised to make things right on day one and I am still waiting for that to happen.

2. AAA Cooper Transportation delivered the pallets damaged. I have spoken to their claims department several times but they refuse to answer any questions and always refer me to *** at ***@priority1inc.com.

3. Claim was filed by Priority1 Inc. I have been speaking to *** who always promises to check status and call me back but never does and now seems to be avoiding my calls.

4. Total Claims Management seems to be the company that manages the claims. I am not quite sure how that works. I have spoken to ***
*** @ *** a few times before. However it appears as if she is also avoiding my calls.

In the meantime I have spent more than 12 hours taking pictures and reporting on individual items, I have not received my money back and I am storing damage merchandise that are of no use.

Desired Outcome

I will like: 1) Full refund of $2,401.00 2) Storage fees for $1,XXX - XX days @ $15/day 3) Removal of the damage merchandise from my garage. I should not have to pay to remove them.

The Discount Warehouse Response

Mrs. was well informed before placing her order that the merchandise we sell is part of a liquidation from the department stores, she also signed our terms of agreement in which we stated that few pieces may be broken, damage or with some defect that she will need to fix before reselling them. For TDW providing a good service and having our clients as *** as possible is our priority number one, that's why we offered Mrs. a credit that can be applied to future purchases. I encourage Mrs. to contact her sales rep on Monday to find a solution that is good for both parties.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This response clearly does not respond to the issue at hand. This seems to be a very general answer especially since I am not aware of any credit. Please address the issue at hand.
Thank you!
