On Monday, November 17,2014, I purchased a Ankle wrap for my [redacted] machine that I currently owned, for my surgery on 11/17/14. This new wrap was placed on my ankle after surgery and I came home with it. In just a short matter of time, the wrap leaked onto my ace bandage, wetting, which I was told to not get wet. My spouse removed this wrap and place back into it package. He went to the DME Store and told them that this item was defective and he was returning to get his money back, of $60.They immediately told my husband, no refunds. My spouse said this item was defective and he is returning, and to credit his credit card for the $60. They refused. Then they went in the back and tested, then came back and said it didn't leak and no refunds.This is completely wrong. They need to take this defective item back and give us the $60 back.Product_Or_Service: Ankle wrap for [redacted] machineDesired SettlementThey need to take this defective item back and give us the $60 backBusiness Response On Tuesday 11/18/14, the day after purchasing a new ankle pad for her [redacted] unit, the patient's husband came back to the clinic with the pad. He asked if he could return it because they already had a knee pad at home which worked for them. When it was explained that he could not return it because it had been used, he claimed that it was leaking. We connected the pad to a unit, filled it with water, and ran it for a time sufficient to see any leakage and did not see any. I showed the patient's husband that it was not leaking and told him that I could not refund his money. I explained to him that often times the pad will create condensation which will make it appear as if it is leaking, but it in fact isn't. I also told him that if he felt like I was wrong and that he was concerned that it truly was leaking to call the manufacturer. They could diagnose it and replace it if necessary, but I was unable to give his money back.
