Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
*** never offered to put a pump in the vehicle. I did not refuse the offer that was never made. As outlined in initial complaint *** said he would call me back with a solution when we last spoke and he never did. I called three times before contacting the Revdex.com with no response. He assured me that spending over $1,000.00 on the rack and pinion would resolve the issue. That is the ONLY reason we would put money into a van that old. He also states he never felt it again after the first repair which is a lie. He felt it all three times (and told me so) or would not have replaced the rack and pinion and U joint for the fun of it. His tech told me he felt it as well. He also states I brought it back after a few months which again is a lie. It was a couple weeks each time as outlined in my initial complaint. Again I was never offered a power steering pump. The van is unsafe to drive. They assured us that it would be right after the repair and it is not. As a non mechanical consumer we rely on companies expertise and recommendations. They clearly are incapable of doing a proper diagnosis or repair. This is NOT an "A" rated business. Refund our money now

Response:
Mr. [redacted] brought his 2006 honda Odyssey to our shop, this car has over 170,000 miles on it, with a tight spot in his steering. I test drove it and felt the problem . We recommend a rack and pinion assm. He agreed ,we gave him an estimate and installed the .part, I test drove the car and...

it drove fine. The tight spot was gone. He came back a few months later said he still had the same problem, I drove it again ,I did feel the tight spot, but I agreed to put another Rack and Pinion in it, in case we may have gotten a defective part from the supplier. Test drove it again , felt fine. He came back a few weeks later said the tight spot still exist, I drove it still did not feel it, but the only other moving part connected to the steering column is a lower steering shaft. I bought a new one from the dealer and installed it at no charge. Once again drove it felt fine I had two other techs drive it they also thought it drove good. He called some days later said he still wasn't satisfied. I researched it further on the internet and it a power steering pump was suggested I offered this to Mr. [redacted], at no extra charge, he said ha already had that done he refused these repairs. It is obvious that we are dealing with a rare problem if it still exist. I am reminding you the car has over 170,000 miles on it lots of things can get worn out in 170,000 miles. Again I never felt his problem after the very first repair.I think they have had the car to other shops for some repairs also. Medley's Auto and Truck has been in business since 1944 , we strive to do excellent repairs at a fair price. I feel like we used all the proper procedures in repairing his vehicle. Some at no charge. Thanks for your consideration of this problem. I feel Mr. [redacted] does have some new parts in his car with 170,00 miles on it, lots of thinks can go wrong on a vehicle in that many miles I regret that he is not happy we try to satisfy each and ever customer.
Thank Again [redacted] Medley.

I feel like Medley's Auto Truck Service used the proper procedures in the repairs of this vehicle. I did offer Mr. [redacted] a power steering pump he refused saying he had already had that done twice before. In response to the time frame of when he brought it back, I was wrong it was 2 Months. Again I never felt the locking up sensation in this vehicle after the first rack and pinion was installed. I put another new one in it, to try to satisfy my customer , and I also put in a lower steering shaft at no charge. the cost of those repairs would have been approx. 176.00. I feel like I have done my best to satisfy this situation. I don't think we did any thing wrong. But I am will to refund half of the rack and pinion. The cost of the rack and pinion was 762.20. The other 200.49 was a drive axle not related to the steering mechanism. I am offering $381.11 in good faith. This is not an admission of any wrong doing, just trying to settle this. Again thanks for your time and consideration of this matter. [redacted] Medley
