It's disheartening to be insulted and belittled and stil retain some form of professionalism. Truly Madam, you used me to shop at home, ordering and having me bring items for your perusal and install them to then say you do not want them and want all your money back.  When that doesn't happen you respond with unfounded accusations and insults.  I do want to resolve this matter and you are making it very difficult.  The check I sent you was not bogus as you stated.  I explained I had to close the account, however, you escalate and embellish this case to with very response to make your point appear valid.  Do you not realize that its transparent??  I ask that you please refrain from belittle, insulting and liable.  You are hurting me and my reputation for the purpose of self gain.   Look, let's get to the point.  The amount of re-embursement you are requesting is unreasonable when you consider all the work and time I have invested in your project.  However, in an effort to finish this matter I am willing to re-embuste you and $600.00.  I await your response and thank you very much

Please be advised that as of this date, March 13, 2017, I have not received a check in the agreed amount of $600.00 from Mr. A[redacted], doing business as The Door Man.  On February 23, 2017, I accepted the $600.00 refund in order to resolve this complaint.  Please advise me on how we can bring this matter to a conclusion. Regards, [redacted]

my response to the complaint referred to above as ID [redacted]; I contracted with Ms. [redacted] to purchased and install 5 aluminum screen doors. Ms. [redacted] was advised at the time of purchase that the doors would take up to 8 weeks to be made and would be scheduled and installed within 2 weeks of their arrival. This agreement was made on October 5, 2016. When the doors arrived, I met with Ms. [redacted] at her residence and brought a section of the doors that were ordered. At that time, there was a worker there who witness my conversation with Ms. [redacted]. I advised and showed Ms. [redacted] that because she only wanted screen and not glass, the 9' hight of the door made for excessive difflection (wobbly/not sturdy/wavy,) making the corners too week and I wouldn't guarantee them, which is the reason I brought a piece of the door to physically show my concern. This was understood by Ms. [redacted] and I suggested that I build them out of wood which would be a much better application for the existing high doors. Ms. [redacted] agreed and gave me the go ahead to do the work. It was most urgent for her to have the front door done and she asked to have that one done first. She also asked to make the bottom portion of the door a bit higher in wood so the dogs wouldn't break the screen. She also requested doggie resistant screens.'. All this was agreed to and I purchased all the materials and built the front door first as she requested. She additionally requested two wood doors for her bedroom to be purchased and installed. When I brought the first/front custom-made-wood door she ordered, I installed the two interior wood doors. When I returned the next day to install the screen door, she advised she didn't want it that it was too heavy and proceed to show me doors from [redacted] on the computer. I explained that those doors were set sizes and would not fit her application. I explained that if she did not want wood, I could build them of steel and have them welded. Ms. [redacted] agreed and I contacted a metal fabricator and sent all the measurements and shop drawings to have the doors built in steel. At this point it was becoming apparent that Ms.'[redacted] was home shopping having me bring different items for her perusal without realizing the work involved every time she changed her mind. I called Ms. [redacted] and advised that there would be significant price changes at which time she told me to not do the metal' doors, to pick up the custom wood door I built and refund all of her money. My response was that this was unreasonable, that not only did I measured and ordered screen doors, made wood doors as per her request, purchased and installed 2 interior wood doors, made shop drawings and ordered steel doors, but also I had spent significant time in travel to her home several times and spent significant time explaining and showing options as well as designing her order. There was also a re-stocking charge for the original' aluminum doors. Ms. [redacted] told me that unless I got my door and refunded all of her money she was going to report me to. The Revdex.com and say I had not added taxes to my order sheet and other threats. I advised Ms. [redacted]. That in view of this, I requested all communications to be in writing and that she could say anything she wanted about me. So long as it was the truth. On December 10th, 2016, I sent Ms. [redacted] a statement for the work done and and a check for the balance of her deposit (please see below.) Apparently, the statement and refund did not reach her prior to contacting your office. Re-stocking charge for screen doors 20% of 3,852 = 770 Purchase and installation of 2 wood doors = 560 Build 1- 9' custom wood screen door with screen, painted= 850 Total: 2,180 Deposit amount  $2434.00Charges to date  $2180.00Amount of refund $ 254.00I believe that any reasonable person would agree with this situation's outcome and Im great full that the Revdex.com views both sides of complaints leveled against businesses. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Regards,
[redacted]

To Whom it May Concern, I originally filed a complaint with the Revdex.com on 12/8/16, which is your above reference number.  Mr. A[redacted], d/b/a The Door Man, responded to you in a letter dated December 18, 2016.  In his letter to you he stated that on December 10, 2016, he sent me a statement for the work done and a check for the balance of my refund, which was $254.00.  On January 3, 2017, I received Mr. A[redacted]'s statement and a check, dated December 6, 2016, his statement was dated December 18, 2016, and the envelope was postmarked December 27, 2016.  I took the check to my bank to cash on January 5, 2017, and was informed that the account was closed. The Door Man, Victor A[redacted], is a liar, a fraud and a thief.  If you review my original complaint I said that Mr. A[redacted] lead me to believe that he himself made the screen doors that I had requested, including the two wood doors for the bedroom.  When he brought me a piece of the door that he thought was to weak I told him I wanted to see the door.  His response was that if he took the door out of the shop he would have to pay a 20% restocking fee.  This is when I realized he did not make the doors, that another company made them.  I told him all I wanted from the beginning were simple aluminum screen doors.  He said my front door was 9 foot high and should be made of wood.  What he brought me weeks later was a massive and heavy wood door painted mint green, was so heavy and bulking I would have trouble getting through my front door and then trying to get through the bulky door.  I then showed an example of a screen door on the computer, it was wood, but my point was that it was the simple style I wanted made with aluminum.  He then said he would make it and have it to me the following day or the next day at the latest.  He never showed up.  Mr. A[redacted] did bring double wood doors for my bedroom, which he stated that he stained.  This was a double door from [redacted], for a cost of $97.00, and included the hardware.  The door is pre drilled for 3 hinges on each door, he installed only two.  The doors are unfinished and one has already askew and longer than the other door.  For this mess he has charged me $560.00.  He also has charged me $770.00 for re-stocking of the screen doors, and charged $850.00 for a 9' door, that door was to be 8' per his own measurements.  His statement indicates a total cost of $2,180.00, my deposit was $2,434.00, giving me a refund of $254.00 written on an account that is closed. Victor A[redacted], d/b/a The Door Man, states in his ad that he is licensed, being license # 3650, which expired January 13, 2016; that he is bonded and insured.  I doubt very seriously if any of this is true.  This is a dishonest person and takes advantage of handicap people like myself.  He is a crook. I know you previously closed this matter, what recourse do I have? Thank you for your attention to this matter. [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: The offer of $600 is not acceptable.  I am requesting no less than $1,000.00, which is still way less than I should be reimbursed.  Again, this man stated he was licensed and he is not.  That is fraud and the bogus check previously sent to me, which I have, states that the account was closed.  I demand $1,000.00 within 10 days of this date 2/10/2017.
