The Edge Contracting Reviews (4)

Tom at Edge has been Super professional to work with... My hail claim got rejected by ANOTHER company but with Edge, everything turned up great! I would HIGHLY reccomend him without any hesitation at all!

My experience with The Edge Contracting, LLC started off from the beginning with actions to commit fraud with [redacted]. After sales consultant, project manager disappeared with no return phone calls or contact I followed proper procedures to cancel the contract I had signed on July 23, 2014 and mailed it to The Edge within three(3) business days after discovering that the sales consultant, project manager had stolen my insurance check and would not answer phone or bring it back. There was no response from the company regarding the cancellation because according to my insurance company the check was cashed on July 25th, 2014. So they had the money already before the three business days expired. After receiving a copy of check with somebody else signature in print form the end of August, 2014 I contacted my insurance company to report a forged check which should have breached the contract. However to make a long nightmare of a story short The Edge Contracting contracted out the removal of a four year old beautiful roof to install a shoddy crooked roof with cheap material, products and labor by inexperienced people who had a language barrier. The Edge Contracting did not follow the scope of my insurance estimate and also copied the maximum cost amount verbatim to do job from my estimate onto the contract exceeding the total estimate cost of my insurance company by more than $5,000.00. So the contract was also bogusly forged. There was no supervision or monitoring of the work crew. I was not informed about the start of work date, it was TBD which never happened so The Edge commenced to begin work on my roof while I was out of town from Aug. 14th to August 18th, 2014. I thought the contract had cancelled. When I returned home that evening material was lying all over showing they had began working. I was told by neighbor that the northside of roof was removed and replaced. It was not included on the scope of estimate because nothing was wrong with it according to claim adjuster. So The Edge Contracting started work without my permission and while I was out of town. The owners of the Edge never showed their faces during this time until I filed a complaint, too late. I wouldn't recommend them to any one due to poor workmanship, [redacted].

The edge was supposed to do my roof and gutter because of a hail storm we had. They came to meet with the insurance adjuster and got the roof and gutters approved. They missed my sheds and some windows and doors that were dented. This should have been my signal but I thought no big deal let's sign this contract and they'll sort this out before the work starts. I signed a contact in December and work was to start by April 1. When we signed the contract I asked how long until you get the sheds figured out. He said 1-2 days. Well before I signed my contract I'd get a response right away and after the contract it took three emails before I got a response. I waited 3 weeks before I asked what the situation was with the sheds and was told sorry I've been traveling. As time went on I was given one excuse after another never any results. Mind you this contractor told me they don't storm chase anymore which I don't even care about but I've learned they do. So if you're local to Milwaukee they won't be around if a storm happen somewhere. So around comes the end of May and all winter I've been pushing and asking about my sheds and front Windows and nothing has happened. They said we need money to order the roofing stuff and I said we are almost out of contract (this was a Thursday) I need a new contract. They agreed and I never hear anything all weekend. Finally I had enough and asked for my money back. They tried to say things will go smoothly now etc etc. They stopped replying to my emails and phone calls so I contacted the state to ask what I needed to do because I gave them earnest money. I sent a letter certified mail that took a week to sign for (there was a hail storm in Indiana I learned they were down there) which is probably why they didn't come sign a new agreement before we ended up out of contract. They wouldn't rely to email or phone calls but did send my money back. I would not recommend this contractor there are plenty of better ones that will appreciate you and make you feel like a customer and that your project is important. This company chases money not relationships. Would not recommend.

It was a very hot and humid July day when Michael [redacted] and Michael [redacted] walked into my office. The hail storm had come through and caused a lot of roof, gutter, and siding damage to all 6 of the buildings in our complex, along with cars in our lots. Contractors had been beating my door down and ringing my phone off the hook. However, none offered the confidence, experience and knowledge that The Edge did. Most didn't even walk the roofs with my maintenance man or take the time to explain this daunting task in such explicit detail with me. Michael [redacted], the owner, and Michael [redacted], the project manager, were on the roof with my maintenance man inspecting the damage in the extreme heat. They spent a good amount of time answering tough questions about their experience and responding to my uncomfortable questions regarding a less than stellar review that I had read about their company during my research on them. They never once lost their cool. They were always professional and spoke with candor. They stood out above all the rest. Our complex is governmentally subsidized and the contract process was difficult, tedious, and time consuming at best. Once the contracts were negotiated, signed, and we had a green light. The Michaels were at my door planning the delivery of materials and scheduling crews. Not only scheduling but here to receive it, store it and watch every phase of the project. There wasn't a day that went by that one of them wasn't here checking in. The original plan was that it would take 4-6 weeks to complete all 6 buildings with roofs, siding, some fascia, and gutters. 2 weeks! That's right, 2 weeks to complete all 6 buildings. The job turned out beautifully. The crews were polite, professional, neat, and proficient in their craft. Please keep in mind that they are 2 hours away from where we are located. They have driven down on a moments notice to address any issue that I had. Always, ready and willing to discuss concerns or additions that came up during the process. I was able to reach them at any time. I NEVER dealt with a secretary or got stuck in some endless loop of automated answering service. I dealt directly with the owner and the project manager. What company offers that type one on one service?! That's right, none. I NEVER waited longer than a few minutes to hear from them by text, email, phone, or a bright and shiny face at my door. They are consummate professionals and have The Edge on any competition out there. Hands down.
