The Electrical Wizard

Review: As an educator, mother, and homeowner, I feel compelled to warn others about the fire hazardous condition [redacted] ([redacted] of Electrical Wizard) left my home in. [redacted] was hired to run a disconnect switch from my electrical box to my hot tub. In addition to this, I asked him to move an outlet and add two more. On his first visit he was given the brochure that contained the specs of the hot tub. [redacted] gave me an estimate and scheduled a day and time to do the job. Unfortunately, [redacted] never kept his commitment and had a different excuse for the following four days. Day 2 of [redacted]'s visit, he set up the outlets but did not come with the correct wire for the tub. He scheduled another day and repeated his unprofessionalism with excuses such as; “I had no reception, I had an emergency call, and he even was creative enough to tell me that he can't pick up the phone anymore while he's driving because he got two tickets and its five points on your license.” Day 3- He comes and runs a dryer wire for my hot tub. At this point, [redacted] was paid cash in full, as discussed, and I never received a receipt for his wrongdoing. Fortunately, I had a friend take a look at what was done and informed me that this is definitely not the correct wire. I called [redacted] immediately and a few days later he showed up…said he doesn't know how he could have made that mistake and scheduled another day to fix the problem. Day 4- He runs a new black wire that he must have ran short of and tied it into the orange dryer wire that he hid and ran into my tub with no connector. Two days later, I was very grateful that I had failed my electrical inspection because everything he did was wrong. He never ran the right wire, he put the wrong AMP breaker in my electrical box and it was not GFI protected. Not to mention, the additional two outlets he put in my room with the hot tub were not GFI protected and to close to the tub. The existing outlet that I asked him to move, he put right next to the tub. The Disconnect that I hired him to install was also RIGHT NEXT to the hot tub and any licensed electrician knows that it is supposed to be at LEAST 5 feet AWAY from the tub. The ceiling light was also not put in correctly. The wire was never grounded, instead he wrapped it around a bracket. I called [redacted] while the electrical inspector was here and he never called me back. I left him several messages and he finally sent me a text that he is to busy and will try to get to me the following week. I had to hire another electrician to come and correct his work. [redacted]'s entire job had to be redone. Both the electrical inspector and new electrician could not believe the dangerous condition that Electrical Wizard left my home in. I never thought I would be happy to have paid for an inspection to fail... but for obvious reasons...I am. [redacted] received $555.00 in cash for a job that was not only done wrong but dangerously. I am taking the time to tell my story for the safety of others. [redacted] is clearly not educated in his field and DOES NOT have the integrity to complete a job CORRECTLY and SAFELY. Shame on you [redacted], owner and operator of Electrical Wizard for taking money from people and leaving their home in a dangerous environment when you blatantly do not have the experience and knowledge to work in this field. I have a list of violations from the electrical inspector, a detailed receipt of the work that had to be redone from the new electrician and photos to prove Electrical Wizard’s incompetence.Desired Settlement: Refund-Cash
