The Escapade

I went with my Grandmother to apply for an appartment at this place, we filled the application and paid 4 different fees, one for an application (each of us $50), one was an administration fee ($100) and the last one was a deposit to PUT ON HOLD THE APPARTMENT ($200). We were told to wait for a response after that and that in case of not getting approved for it we would get a refund for the administration and deposit fees but not the application, mentioned fees were paid in the form of money orders. Once we received the call, unfortunately we were not approved due to a shortage on our income and we’re told to bring extra documentation, which we were going to until without our consultation they changed the appartment they promised would be put on hold until the end of our application because they had already rented it. It was not a big deal until my grandma decides to apply somewhere else that they just said will cancel the application and that we were good to go. The lady got upset once I asked her about the two fees that they said would be refundable in case of not getting approved and said that the person we originally talked to was only on training and did not know that the only refundable fee was the deposit. After a tiring conversation we decided just to take mentioned refund for just the deposit and leave, but she just started saying that she was not able to find it. At the end she looked in our file again and she was able to get the money order for the deposit and gave it to us in a very impolite way, but not once we were able to talk to the person we originally applied with or ask about the second fee, walking out of the place with the asked documentation and only $200 for the deposit that was not even respected.

I moved into the *** on February 9th 2018. I was moved into a apartment complex next door to neighbors who smoked marijuana and the apartment filled with the smell every morning an night and intoxicated my clothes, bath towels, bed sheets, etc. My neighbors drank and partied outside and commented harassing statements as I would walk up to my apartment every day. After many complaints I asked the managers at the moment to relocate me. When I never heard back from them I realized the management had stopped working there and we had a new staff. I talked to the new management and they told me they had a new apartment for me but it was being "fixed" on March 12, 2018 the new manager and her Admin staff called to say the apartment was ready for move in. I requested for movers to come out that day payed the fee to start moving everything. When we opened the door the apartment wood flooring was lifted from the floor, water damage outside and inside the apartment, cabinets were broken and the paint peeling off, the stove tops were broken , the restroom ceiling had a hole, roaches in the apartment, the front door had no seals, and the list goes on. I have photos of everything I encountered. The new Manager Nancy and a Maintenance worker came to take a look and the she was surprised at all of the damages in the Apartment. The Maintenance worker said he had never worked on it and it was a he said she said game. Without me knowing they moved me into an apartment that floods and is roach infested. Water has entered my apartment twice and the solution for them was to apply sand bags outside my door to prevent water from entering. My mom fell over a sand bag and had to be hospitalized Two months later after many phone and emails my apartment still floods and has cockroaches multiplying. When I call the manager she replies with " This is not an emergency situation and a work order must be submitted in order for something to be done when we are not busy" The regional manger is also informed.
