Job not done correctly and damage to property.
We are dissatisfied with your service because the 2 day project took 9 visits and over a month to complete with multiple damages to our property. We believe we were beyond patient and even *** said he wouldn't have been as patient as we were with his home. We thought when we hired your company, we would get professional quality work. As you can see from the pictures and multiple texts sent to ***, we did not. We communicated with *** via text and called Destiny in the office quite often. I have already attempted to resolve these problems by allowing you to attempt to fix the repairs and damages multiple times.
Unfortunately, the quality of work was so unsatisfactory and we had to hire a tile professional to redo the job and repair the floor which was damaged during the time your employees were working or repairing the tub that your employee, ***, damaged during the first attempt to do the quoted job. As you know, there was a miscommunication between *** and *** regarding the niche

Desired Outcome

We would like a refund for unsatisfactory work and the tub to be repaired with matching surface(with warranty of work). We did keep the plumbing, which we are not requesting refund for that part. Please see details below. We are hereby requesting that you refund for the following: 1) Tile repair 2) Niche job 3) Towel Bar repair We did keep the plumbing, so we will pay for the plumbing service that was provided and is not leaking at this time. The quote for the plumbing job was quoted at $375.00. The total refund requested is $921.50, which includes the $875.00 for the unsatisfactory job plus $28.90 for the thin set purchased on 3/24/17 for Carlos (which was to be included per the quote) and $17.60 for tiles purchased for the job to be redone. The completion date for the plumbing warranty is 4/28/17, the last day one of your employees tried to fix the job. Your employees used our bathroom sink, without asking, and as you can see from the pictures of the plumbing, they introduced a lot of "gunk" into the plumbing which as you know would cause plumbing issues if we hadn't checked prior to using the sink. We had even taped off the sink, and Carlos still used the sink over the tape. We are not satisfied with the tub repair. Your employee, Brian, damaged the tub and we do not like how the repair is visible to the naked eye and it not smooth like our tub was prior to the damage. As you can see from the picture of the tub, you can clearly see where the repair is compared to the original tub. We want the tub repaired to the shiny, smooth feel like the rest of the tub. The gentleman, your subcontractor, said we could only use Dawn to clean the tub and we do not feel we should not have to change our cleaning style to protect the repair job you contracted out. We will find a qualified repair company to repair the tub damage and communicate with you so you can pay them directly so the job can be completed properly.

The Everything Man Response

On July 18th we received the first notice of complaint that is marked "final notice".

To address the complaint, the project did not go as well as planned, but we made numerous trips to attempt to appease the customer. However, every time we sent someone over to make a repair, the customer had a list of new issues to complain about, some of which had nothing to do with the work that we originally did. The bathroom is 30 years old and looks amazingly nice for it's age. The repairs that we did were more than adequate for the existing condition of the bathroom with the exception of a couple of minor items which we attempted to repair on multiple occasions. The customers expectations of what a "repair" is are somewhat unrealistic.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First and foremost, our bathroom was remodeled approximately 15 years ago and at that time we updated the bathroom tub surround and tile floor including subfloor and backing board. We did not replace the cast iron tub as was in perfect shape. We have lived in the home 22 years and during that time; we have cleaned the tub with cloths or sponges and commercial bathroom cleaner. So I am aware there was a small nick in the side of the tub facing the room toward the towel bar during our time living in our home that was caused when a hammer was dropped when we were putting up the towel bar (which also caused the original crack in the towel bar tile). It was not visibly noticeable, but I felt it every time I cleaned the tub. Therefore, I am confident that when I noticed the two other nicks in the tub toward the niche area which were created during the time they were working in our bathroom, but unfortunately, I did not document the entire bathroom prior to them doing any work in the bathroom nor did I stay in the bathroom and watch them the entire time they were working. The only reason we needed to get the repair done was we had a plumbing leak behind the tub surround and the repair required the plumber from Four Season's Plumbing to remove tile to get to the plumbing. *** quoted the tile replacement job on 3/20/17, we asked the priced to improve the look of the niche he said during the quote that the job would look good and the niche would be better than it's current condition. During the quote process, we asked about replacing the tile towel bar that was cracked since the crack had become more noticeable and we thought professionals would be the best way to get it replaced without damaging the tile around it. *** went through the details of why the towel bar repair was so expensive, that they would have to gently move the towel holder back and forth and it would take a long time. *** assured us his tile guy would do a really good job, it would look professional and it would be a 2-day job.
Per the http://thelawdictionary.org/professional/ - What is PROFESSIONAL?
1. A person, who is a member of a professional body due to the education qualification and follows the prescribed moral and professional code of conduct 2. A person who has mastered a high level of expertise in a subject, notion on field
Therefore, we do not feel that our expectations for a professional repair were met. Please see details below and refer to documents already submitted for pictures, details, etc. If the job had been done correctly the first time and without damage to our property, then multiple trips to do repairs to correct their repairs or damage they created would not have been necessary. I am not sure what they mean "some of which had nothing to do with the work that we originally did." The only thing I can think of is the two nicks in the tub and the crack in the tile floor that they refused to repair since I couldn't prove they had done the damage, which is very similar to the response to the damage to the tub, which they only agreed to after the photos we had taken happened to show the tub prior and the damage with Bryan's leg in it.

Please see Revdex.com Everything Man Rebuttal.pdf and other uploaded and previously uploaded documents that are referenced in the rebuttal.pdf; for more details with dates. The emails that were sent 6/14/17 and were never responded to even though I called the office and spoke with Destiny to confirm email address from their website was correct and she said yes and she said it is checked regularly. I asked her to please let them know a time sensitive email had been sent.

Also, the professional that came to our home and tiled the full bathtub surround and floor, did the job in three days and we are completely satisfied with his work and his professionalism including cleaning up the job site before he left.

I am going to email Ms. Yong the documents that would not upload. I have tried three times and come back to the same screen.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The main reason that had to come multiple times is they did not do the job correctly the first time or we discovered something they damaged, which we have already provided documentation.

We would settle for a refund of:

$875.00 (unsatisfactory work even after multiple opportunities)
$28.90 for thin set we purchased that was supposed to be included in quote
$17.60 for tiles purchased only because job had to be redone
$425 for tub to be done properly (Quote in case)

For a total of $1,346.50

Please note: The professional that we hired to redo the work, the work had no problems or complaints from us.

The Everything Man Response

I will let the above rebuttal speak for itself. Just as we stated above, every conversation with this customer, the complaints changed. Notice that the original refund request was for $921.50. Now all of a sudden it is for $1346.50.

The original tub repair was $165.00. The cost of $425.00 quoted to repair it again is more than excessive. Also, as stated before, we will not warrantee the tub repair. We have provided the contact info for the company that did the repair and they will be responsible for any warrantee work.

Again, we have expended more than twice the original contract price in labor and materials in an attempt to please this customer and we will NOT be issuing any type of refund.
