Review: We hired The Expert Institute to locate an expert witness for a law suit. Their business model offers two (2) ways to pay: (1) Pay $1,500 AFTER an expert has been identified, screened and vetted and AFTER we have successfully spoken to the expert; (2) Pay $1,000 up front, which is fully refundable if we are not satisfied with the expert. We chose the second (2nd) option. We were not satisfied with the expert and requested the return of our $1,000.00. The Expert Institute refused to refund our $1,000.00.Desired Settlement: We request that The Expert Institute refund the $1,000.00 back to the credit card we used.

Overview:

The Expert Institute works with more than 3,000 law firms across the US, the UK & Canada. We're a 3.5 year old technology company. We work VERY hard to ensure a 100% satisfaction guarantee with all of our clients.

Our core competency is identifying, vetting and screening expert witnesses for complex litigation matters. We charge a fee upon pairing a client with a suitable candidate - and we offer a phone interview with all clients and candidates to ensure a perfect match has been made.

Case Specific Detail:

On the engagement in question, prompting complaint # [redacted], TEIs research team (a dedicated staff of professionals with specific industry knowledge, which includes a medical doctor) identified dozens of suitable matches for client [redacted] participated in an engagement phone interview with the candidate she preferred to hire. Upon completion of call, she agreed to begin working with said candidate and TEIs fee was earned per our terms and conditions.

Follow Up:

Shortly thereafter, it became apparent that [redacted] was not going to pay the candidate we had paired her with - he billed at a rate of $500/hour - because the expert advised that her case was frivolous and lacked merit - thus, it would not be a lucrative opportunity for her small law firm. Of additional importance: [redacted] was representing herself in the case - while she is an attorney, she also was seeking to represent herself in an injury claim against the driver of another automobile.

[redacted]'s case involved a minor car accident - which she claims "triggered the onset of cancer - more specifically, lymphoma." However, once we paired her with a highly qualified, board certified professor of medical oncology from a top university medical center in New York who advised that she really did NOT have a case worth pursuing, she immediately decided that she wanted her money back.

Conclusion:

1. The Expert Institute guarantees its clients that we will locate the most qualified, irrefutable expert witness candidates for their complex litigation needs.

2. We never promise or guarantee that an expert witness will SUPPORT a case - but instead, confirm that we will provide the best qualified, objective subject matter experts in any industry or field.

3. [redacted] did not pay the oncology expert she was paired with - he agreed not to charge her anything - even though he provided insightful feedback and explained why her case was frivolous and meritless.

4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE EXPERT INSTITUTE ISSUED A FULL REFUND TO LAURA - SHE RECEIVED $1000 BACK ON HER CREDIT CARD - AGAIN, IN EFFORTS TO ENSURE A 100% SATISFACTION RATING - WHICH WE HAVE MAINTAINED TO DATE - WHILE WORKING WITH MORE THAN 3,000 LEADING LAW FIRMS IN THE US AND ABROAD.

Our organization would appreciate if [redacted]'s remarks / complaint to the Revdex.com could be removed from your system as it is invalid, inaccurate, libelous and misleading. Furthermore, this incident was an isolated one.

I received my $1,000.00 back through VISA. The Expert Institute did not contact me directly, they refused to refund my money, and I only got it back because VISA recognized that The Expert Institute did not honor their own written agreement with me, of which you have a copy.
