The Exterminators Reviews (%countItem)

We hired the Exterminators to help us understand the strange noises we were hearing in the walls of the house. On the first visit to our home we tried to explain in detail what we were hearing, tried to show them the obvious holes we found and expected them to further investigate the problem. They were quick to recommend we install a one way door on the roof for the animal to leave and this should solve the problem. They said they took pictures of the holes in the house however not one time did they suggest to close these holes. I have requested to see these pictures on several occasions however they have refused to show them to me. It has now been 2 months since my first call to company and I have continued to update them on the activity in my house. Clearly the $300 one way door they installed was not required, especially since none of the holes they found in the house were even closed, making it absolutely pointless. When I called them back to the house the second time, again they ignored my concerns about the holes that were left open, ignored the rat poop we found in the kitchen, instead were focused once again on the one way door they installed and tried to convince me it was a rare red squirrel in my roof and said to wait a few more weeks for it to leave. Weeks passed, noises persist, more rat poop detected, the cat even had one rat cornered, however The Exterminators were unable to identify the problem, acknowledge the problem and still have unable to treat the problem. They continue to argue that we in fact need the one day door, dismissing the fact they failed to find the problem and attempt to resolve it. I have called them on several occasions to advise them on their misdiagnosis and have asked them to provide me with the appropriate treatment. I called a professional to deal with this problem yet they failed to listen and help and sold me something that was not required.

Desired Outcome

Refund I have advised them I am willing to take their rat treatment that should of been originally offered, however the money I paid for the "door" that was NOT required should be returned or the money I already paid should be applied for the treatment for the rats instead.

Please find attached the original service report written by our technician and signed by the customer. They had called us for a rodent problem which ended up being both a squirrel and a rat problem.

Two problems requiring two different treatments. Squirrels require a humane one way door (OWD) installation to allow the animals to exit, while rats require an extermination. Both pest problems were brought to the customer's attention on our very first visit, but the customer only wanted to hire us for the squirrel removal. They thought our prices were too high for rats and they wanted to shop around. Since then they have refused the rat treatment but continue to extort our company asking for a free rat treatment or otherwise they will slander our reputation online- like they have on your website. Since then, the squirrel problem has been resolved.

We have offered to do the rat treatment at a discounted rate to put this matter to rest on numerous occasions but they have refused. We have been in continuous contact with the customer and have honoured our warranty for the service they hired us for.

Customer is accusing us for not sending photos of our work but had refused to write their email on the service report (attached) and also refused to provide it over the phone.

You can find an attached a detailed timeline of events ( 45 Royal York Timeline.pdf). Consider this information confidential and for your review only.

Please review the information and files and let us know if this is sufficient to settle the complaint privately without having to publish any more details about this case.

We do not take slander nor extortion lightly and we are in contact with our legal team about this customer in preparation for litigation if it comes to that.

Looking forward to your response.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
From the pictures that were sent there is no way they can 1st it was installed incorrectly. The flooring is breaking all through the high traffic areas in my kitchen where it is installed and into my dining room. The edges of those flooring are cracking at the seams and there is no way this is an installation issue. Both myself and the person who helped install this flooring are licensed red seal tradesman with a lot of experience installing flooring.it is a mystery to me how they know it was installed incorrectly by seeing pictures of cracked and separated flooring.

We believe that the documentation provided thus far is clearly indicative of the 2 separate pest issues present and that the customer hired us to resolve one of them and chose to "shop around" for the other. All our rat exterminations start from $345+hst and have a 6 month warranty. We do not perform rat exterminations for the interior and exterior for $275+hst.
We install one way doors for wildlife to exit staring at $275+hst and guarantee that an animal cannot break in through our work for 2 years (as indicated on the invoice).
Both pest concerns were identified and brought to the customers attention during our first visit. Please see attached invoice. Please also see attached photos that indicate the presence of rats within the home (rat droppings), squirrels living under the elevated back deck and squirrels living in the attic. All of this has been identified and documented.
Whenever dealing with any wildlife control problem, be it raccoon, skunk, squirrel or even bird, the installation of the one way door is required. If the door is not placed, then we are trapping an animal inside a given space and thus effectively either killing it or causing more damage to the property as the animal tries to exit from another location. All of this information gets communicated to every customer on our first interaction over the phone before we even book an appointment.
In this instance we identified that a wild animal, a squirrel, was living in the customers attic. It is very common for wildlife to be attracted to urine and fecal smells left over by a different animal living inside a structure. The location and type of hole (along with oil marks left around the hole itself) are clearly indicative that a squirrel was indeed living inside the attic.
The customer, as she acknowledges in hes 2nd post, clearly states that she was hearing noises inside her attic. When we followed up the customer by phone to verify whether noises had ceased, she confirmed that she was no longer hearing activity from the attic but was "shopping around" for a rat extermination. The process of our rat extermination has been explained to the customer repeatedly by our office manager.
It is evident that the customer is contradicting themselves when they argue that our company cannot be trusted to perform a rat extermination while they have previously claimed that "I have advised them I am willing to take their rat treatment that should of been originally offered, however the money I paid for the "door" that was NOT required should be returned or the money I already paid should be applied for the treatment for the rats instead." It appears that the customer is arguing on emotion, not on facts.
Also note that rodenticide purchased from the dollar store does not have nearly the same efficacy as our commercial grade products do.
It is customary to close off entry points, when dealing with rats, 2 to 3 weeks after the extermination takes place in attempts to allowing poisoned animals to exit a structure.
We have provided adequate justification and proof that the customer hired us to remove a squirrel from her attic, which we have done. She did not hire us for a rat extermination which is required (as has been indicated on the invoice that the customer and our company both singed).
The customer has threatened us with slander and has extorted us, claiming that if we do not provide a free rat extermination she will slander our business on a online platform. She has indeed posted slanderous remarks on the Revdex.com website.

We hope that your organization can identify the nature of this customer's remarks as slanderous given the proof we have provided and close this complaint.
Please let me know if you or your organization requires further explanation on the topics discussed above.
