Review: Im an ADA person and was in this store making a purchase with a CREDIT CARD. I handed over my credit card for use (that is also an ATM card). The woman took the card, swiped the card on a small electronic device (it was near her on the other side of the register) then handed me the device and asked me to enter my PIN. I covered the device with my hand (not wanting her to see my number) as I entered my PIN. When I removed my hand I noticed a very small green strip with printing about a fee. When I noticed that I said is there a fee? While looking at another women in the store who is always there when I deliver donations. The woman behind the register then said that I should have seen the sign when I swiped my card. NOTE: The problem is that I never swiped my card she did. So I said I was not going to pay any money and that they needed to refund me my money as the FEE was not disclosed. She said she would only refund half of my purchase and it would be store credit. I said I oh forget it just give me the items. ITEMS FOR YOU NOT DISCLOSED AT THE STORE: I am a disabled person and wear glass. I took a picture of the device as I returned to the store to do that prior to writing this. I believe that there practices are illegal, in that 1)the device was not in my view and 2)the sign for FEE was covered entirely when my card was swiped and 3) I did not/could not see the FEE notification. When I return to the store to tell them I wanted to speak to the manager the other women said she was the manager I then asked for the owners name and phone number. The woman who said she was the manager was RUDE and did not supply that information. She did take my phone number said it was illegible when I wrote making more rude comments then telling me not to ever return to the store again.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for any FEES charged to me and I want the owner to place a SIGN in plain VIEW at the REGISTER that is LARGE and READABLE. I also want him/her to train employees NOT to cover up any signs during transactions that are charged a FEE for ATM service. And I want an apology!
