When you have recurring deductions coming out of your checking account every month for years do you remember if you set it up with your checking account number or debit card? BE AWARE – if you join or belong to The Fitness Club At Easton in Forks you had better make sure you know the answer! If it's your debit card (or even a regular credit card) PLEASE pull it out of your wallet RIGHT NOW and put the expiration date on your calendar, and make sure it pops up to repeatedly to remind you well ahead of time to give them your new expiration dateBecause according to the Fitness Club At Easton, it is YOUR responsibility to give them an updated expiration date BEFORE your credit/debit card renews – if you don't they will charge you $Turns out they’ve had years of Revdex.com complaints about this issue and promised the Revdex.com that they would start sending notices about upcoming expiration dates days before – like every other business in America does BTW – do they do that? NO! My son is there almost every day – did they tell him, or any of us, when we swiped in that we would need to get them an updated expiration date? NO!
You guessed it, we got new debit cards last monthSame account, same card number, only an updated expiration dateWe just got letters in the mail – yes 4, because they can't figure out how to do a family membership so you have to get individual membershipsObviously just another way to rip you off because now they’re charging us $as a ‘returned EFT’ fee for each account – $total!
If I didn’t have enough money in my account and the bank rejected it, that would be my badIf I’m over my credit limit and the bank rejected it, that would be my badIf I close my bank account or cancel a credit card and don’t inform businesses regularly charging to them, that would be my badEvery day businesses get error messages when processing credit cards for things like expiration dates – that is NOT a returned EFTThey’ve ignored the repeated complaints about this issue and actually acknowledged they’re not going to change, simply because they don’t have toThey know most of us will balk but then take it on the chin because, hey, it’s only $a month so getting nickeled and dimed for annual renewals and other things averages outIs $going to make or break us? NoIt’s the principleI’ve been a small business advocate all my lifeI’ve never publicly complained about anythingBut I will be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com and canceling my membership (which has to be done certified mail, return receipt BTW)Shame on you The Fitness Club At Easton

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
A few things....Mr. S[redacted] asks why I think I can renegotiate my contract....because Mr. S[redacted] said he would....then went back on his word.Also.... My verbal contingency when signing the contract (see initial complaint). Please note....I am NOT in any way discrediting The Fitness Club or its employees....I am however discrediting the owner, Mr. S[redacted] for not keeping his word = dishonest business owner. The CONTRACT also says: "All sessions are available to Client/Member for duration of Valid Membership at The Easton Fitness Club."  Does this mean if I cancel my membership, the training sessions will also not be valid....and I will stop being charged the $220 training fee monthly?     [redacted](Side note...I don't want to cancel my membership because the Fitness Club is a nice facility....I just want to reduce the training sessions contract).Finally....the ONLY reason I continue to Use the Fitness Club trainer is because Mr. S[redacted] won't renegotiate the contract.  I am being charged $220 a month of which I am not just going to GIVE Mr. S[redacted] without using the service.I do have a feeling all of this is for nothing....because it seems Mr. S[redacted] is the type of person who won't swallow his pride and admit he is wrong for going back on his word....but lets see what happens!!!
Regards,

To date the complainant has not canceled his membership according to the terms of his membership agreement. He must give in writing his authorization to discontinue payment withdrawals. He must  notify The Fitness Club 30 days in advance to cancel. After review of our security cameras...

the complainant is not shown anywhere signing any paper as he stated? His membership was not canceled and cannot be given verbally or over the telephone. We also do not have any forms or paper to fill out on the members behalf. The female manager in an incident report (filled out June 5th 2014) stated the complainant harassed her and began using profanity and his dislike of our return fee policy  and the $20 fee he was charged. A male employee came to the defense of the manager and the complainant was asked to leave the premises.
Then on June 11, 2014  The Fitness Club received a telephone call from the complainant again refusing to pay for his June membership dues which had returned unpaid due to his revoked authorization. (Remember the complainant had not canceled his membership and refused to put it in writing.)
We have canceled the complainant's membership today and we will not seek further collection of the debt. However any further correspondence from the complainant will be deemed harassment through communication.
Healthfully yours,

President
