I am responding to the above mentioned complaint. [redacted] began her membership at our club on April 6, 2015 (please  see attached contract). As she explained, she signed her contract via E-Agreement. The member signs and electronic pad multiple times authorizing the contract. The...

contract is displayed on the computer screen and the member also receives a copy to their email. Our staff thoroughly explains the details of the membership and the file emailed to the member clearly states the guidelines of the membership. When [redacted] came into the club to cancel, we reiterated the cancellation guidelines of her contract; we also offered a temporary hold on her contract in an effort to understand her current situation. She wasn’t interested in a hold and abruptly left the club. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions.

The letter states that the employees "thoroughly" go over the contract with new clients, however if this were the case I would have known about the cancellation policy. I am 100% positive the employee that signed me up did NOT go over the cancellation policy. As far as being "not interested and walking out"; as I explained in my first email, the owner did not have the decency to speak to me privately as I requested, and instead wanted to argue with me in front of other employees and it was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. She compared this to "buying a car, you don't just return it if you don't want it anymore." Again, very unprofessional and unnecessary. The reason I did not bother to do the account hold is because as I explained to her more than once, I would not be returning to living within 25 miles of the club. She did not want to accept that. Again, I am asking they accept my move for family medical emergency of 20 miles, and forgive the minuscule 5 mile difference to please cancel my membership asap.
