The Floor Show Reviews (2)

The Floor Show did not have a contract with the homeowner, but rather with the builder. The homeowner had selected a complex, time consuming pattern for installation.  While The Floor Show was working, the builder continuously pushed The Floor Show to speed up the work and complete the job....

Although the homeowner did not serve in a supervisory role, he frequently complemented The Floor Show on the quality of workmanship, and urged the installer not to sacrifice quality for time. Notwithstanding the builder's constant insistence on finishing the job, the owner was advising the installer to take his time.  Additionally, the builder walked on the flooring before the grout was cured notwithstanding the instructions of the installer not to do so, thus creating a problem with the flooring in his haste to complete the job. The builder further complicated the job by obtaining the services of another installer to assist in the completion of the project. The homeowner's claim for epoxy on the cabinet is part of a much larger dispute. The homeowner has $47,050.00 worth of tile on his floors and walls, for which The Floor Show has only been paid $15,000.00. Apparently the homeowner wants to resolve his issue, but not ours.  Unfortunately, this matter is being submitted to litigation for resolution. The homeowner's contract is with the builder, and he should address his complaint with him, as The Floor Show is having to do likewise.  We will be glad to schedule a time to take care of the grout on the cabinets (and have attempted to do so already), but the builder needs to compensate us for work already completed, as outlined in our original proposal. Finally, while the installation was being completed on October 18, 2014, The Floor Show installers had to leave the premises under adverse working conditions which they deemed as a threat to their safety.  Numerous attempts were made by The Floor Show through the builder to resolve punch list issues and although the installation was essentially completed, the builder refused to pay invoices as they became due and payable under the terms of the contract, which sums remain unpaid.  While The Floor Show understands the owner's frustration, the vast majority of the owner's complaints are a result of the builder's interference and mismanagement. The Floor Show enjoys a good reputationand works hard to main tain it.  Unfortunately, the homeowner's complaints were caused by the builder's interference of the job completion, and not as a result of The Floor Show's workmanship.

Review: The Floor Show installed the floor tile in our entire house as well as the wall tile in our bathrooms. It was not even close to a satisfactory standard. The floor was uneven in spots and the epoxy (grout) was left out of many spaces. The floors were left uncleaned and the mortar coating the tiles created a hazy look. Dust and dirt were allowed to get into the epoxy before it dried, so our black epoxy looked grayish brown/dirty. Not only were we not satisfied with the floors, the installers got epoxy across the bottom of several of our custom cabinets. Hardened black epoxy on our white cabinets did not make us happy. The wall tile in the bathroom appeared to be thrown up in a haphazard manner. They left our bathroom without caulking. They tiled around the shower and left the shelf laying on the counter. We, as well as our builder, have contacted them about correcting the issues and they have been unwilling to do so.Desired Settlement: The only thing we would like resolved is the issue with our cabinets. We would like to be financially compensated if they are unable to fix the cabinets themselves. The other problems can be handled through our builder.
