My house has birds in the attic because of the wrong installation of ventilation holes on the roof. So now it has a big gap where they are getting in.
I went through the Phoenix Building Code and I found this excerpt:
"1203.2.1 Openings into attic.
Exterior openings into the attic space of any building intended for human occupancy shall be protected to prevent the entry of birds, squirrels, rodents, snakes and other similar creatures. "
I contacted my builder which is this group and the type of response I received:
"The warranty period on your home at [redacted] has long-ago expired. Your home was built to code and it passed inspection by the City of Phoenix and a Certificate of Occupancy was issued. The matter you are looking for the builder to address is that of homeowner maintenance. Therefore, you are the responsible party to manage the maintenance and repairs of your home. " - [redacted] This is obviously NOT maintenance issue. In my community of houses, several of them have the exact same problem.
