The Gardner Company Reviews (6)

Review: We hired the Gardner Company to replace our deck, which they did, but many of the boards on the deck have cracked. We have been contacting them regularly to have them come back and fix the problem before the one year warranty is up. They claim that they are back logged with work and cannot give me a date. So I keep calling to get a date and I keep getting either voicemail which I do leave a message or just get the runaround.Desired Settlement: I just want them to come and fix my deck before the warranty runs out.

Bradley,

We hired this company to install gutters, and in the process of the installation, they damaged our drip edge on our roof. We were advised that they had sent inexperienced workers to install the gutters because they had some extra time that day. When we addressed the damaged drip edge with the company, they played the blame game and tried to blame the drip edge on our roofer who installed the roof three years ago. It was in great condition prior to them installing the gutters. This costs us $495 to get our roof drip edge repaired by their roofer, and they supplied the supplies which was minor in compared to the labor costs. I would not recommend using them for gutters. We did have good luck with the roofer who repaired our drip edge, however I credit his workmanship and not the Gardner Company. We also made several attempts to contact the owner about this issue, however he would not take the time to personally contacts us. Apparently he is not too concerned about his company's reputation. Overall, we would not recommend them for gutter installation as you will get more than you bargained for.

Review: in the fall of 2011 we contracted with gardner co to replace out residential roof. in the winter of 2012/13 we had water leakage on and off in one portion of the roof.

I contacted our salesman ([redacted]) and he can out to our home and said that gardner would correct the problem in the summer of 2013. after not hearing antthing from [redacted] or gardner for several months, I tried repeatedly to contact [redacted] with no success. finally the receptionist informed me the [redacted] was working out of another office and that [redacted](owner) would assist me. I spoke with [redacted] once and he agreed that he would fix my leak problem and that my description of the leak was due to a problem with the roofing underlayment. he apologized for the delay in service and said he would come out to our house and correct the issues. several weeks/months have passed and he will not return repeated requests through his receptionist to return my calls.Desired Settlement: we would like a repair/replacement under the terms of the 120 month warrenty

RE: #[redacted]

Dear Mr. [redacted]:

As regards this complaint, I contacted the client shortly after we received it

The work is scheduled to be completed October 22, 2013.

Please contact us with any further questions you may have.

Sincerely,

THE GARDNER COMPANY

Gardner Roofing did a great re-roofing job for us. They finished in about 1.25 days. This was due to a few complications that came up on our job. We were very impressed with the crew and [redacted] was very professional to deal with. A window was accidently broken by the crew but they quickly had it fixed at no cost to us. They also cleaned up well. We would recommend them for both their quick and professional work and their reasonable cost in comparison to other roofers.

Review: A new front door with blinds between the glass was installed. The blinds won't go down straight when turned in a certain direction. The new lock on the door has to manually be unlocked instead of opening when handle is turned. The deadbolt lock can't always be locked -- appears to not line up properly. When screen door was put back on an extra piece of wood was added and split right where nail when in.Desired Settlement: Warranty honored and repairs/replacement done.

Company states that they will be contacting the consumer today to get a date scheduled to have the door removed.

Response:

I was sent this email on 11/5/13 indicating that the company would contact me on that day to schedule removing the door. It is now 11/8/13 and I have not heard anything from the company. Also, when they say remove the door does that mean they are replacing the door or leaving me with no door?

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The lock situation got so bad that I contacted another Locksmith company to repair the problem.I would never recommend The Gardner Company to anyone and I hope that you report just what kind of poor repairs, etc. that they do. It is a shame that I had to spend extra money (more than $100) to be able to lock a new door. [redacted]

Review: I hired the Gardner Company to fix a leaking roof issue. After many attempts and they failed to fix the issue. I have paid the invoice since they sent in good faith that they would stand behind their work.

Communication with them as been sporadic and often taking days or weeks to get a hold of them.

The last conversation I have had, they requested I find other company to work the problem.

The end result is I still have leaking roof issues and now have to find a different company to fix it.Desired Settlement: I would like the Gardner Company to either complete the repair of the roof or refund the payment since the previous repairs did not work and they are not willing to stand behind their work and warranty.

We have spoke to Mr. [redacted] several times regarding this issue. We have been back several times trying to find where this leak is coming from. We spoke to Mr. [redacted] this same day of complaint & he & [redacted] have agreed that [redacted] will bid out what it will cost to remove that section of roof that is needed to try to resolve this leak issue. We are very hopeful to find a resolution for Mr. [redacted]. Thank you
