My experience with the Glendale Apartments has been terrible. First someone was breaking into my apartment I believe it was the h[redacted] maintenance guys. One maintenance guy drove a black T[redacted] Sequioia with a big eagle on it. He watched me all the time walking at night, I believe he was the one who came in and out of my apartment.
Secondly, my car was towed because I didn't get a new sticker. I originally reported my car stolen, but the police said it was towed. I couldn't understand why because I didn't park in a handicap, reserved or visitors parking spot. The police gave me a number to call to get my car. I talked with a guy who said he was the Property Manager, when asked if I can speak with the person who authorized the towing they said that person was not available, than he said he was the property manager so he lied. I asked how many cars was towed he said he didn't know. When I picked up my car the [redacted] towing company said he picked 13 cars from the complex. I only saw 5 cars. He said the lot was too small to hold all the cars. I paid the towing fee by credit card which was $180 which included a $5 fee. I asked what the $5 fee was for he said he had to pay Prince George's and Montgomery County which didn't make sense to me. What did Prince George's and Montgomery County had to do with this transaction. Then he wanted me to sign terms and conditions, but could not produce the term and conditions for me to read. He took a picture of my drivers license which was wrong because of Personally Identified Information (PII).
Only one notice was sent on April 22, 2016. Property Management lied and said three notices were sent, I asked for the three notices and only two was given when I asked for a copy. She also said, the first notice was sent in February 2016, which was a lie. The notices I received were dated April 22nd and May 31, 2016 (I truly believe the Final Notice was not created until June 6, 2016 when I complained). The notices did not have a deadline date to renew the sticker. The current sticker does not have an expiration date, the only difference is the color. Over half the apartment complex still have red stickers. The property manager said over 85% of the residence have the green sticker. I asked to see the log however I was told "no" because of tenants PII data. I took pictures of 12 cars just on one side of the complex 3 days later that still had red stickers. I was told by the manager that some vehicles could not be renewed however their cars are still parked on the lot with red stickers. How unfair is that.
Many tenants complained about the towing because they did not receive the "so call" reminders or final notices. The property manager said she authorized the towing on June 1st. The so call Final Notice was sent on May 31, 2016, but towing started June 1, 2016. If the towing started June 1, 2016, than half of the parking lot should be empty as over half of the cars still have the old stickers. Obviously there was poor communication. She said the towing is only done at night. If this was a big deal and effort than the towing company should have ten trucks to haul all the cars not just a selected few.
I asked for a refund of $180 because I didn't think it was fair for only certain cars to be towed when half the residence still have red stickers. I was told no. However, I am still seeking $180.
