In each of the 4 photo (1 per side) you can clearly see that when it left the factory there was not marks, scratches, or problems with the paint job. The paint is glossy and smooth with no defects. The photos supplied by Mr. [redacted] show surface scratches that appear to be made in after the fact. We had our [redacted] Paint representive make a site visit to Mr. [redacted]s location and this is his evaluation. "A paint company representative has inspected the dump body in question. After inspection of the body it was determined the complaint appears to be due to light scratches and scuff marks in the paint. This could be caused by washing and drying from a towel. This is a normal occurrence due to the dark color of black. Dry paint film build readings were recorded and the body in question has the proper dry film builds. The paint and primer system on the body will perform as expected."It was determined by The Godwin Group that this is not a warrantable item as we do not guarantee that the paint will never scratch and the fact that it did not leave our factory in this manner. I have photos that I can supply if needed.Consumer Response in response to there pictures of the bed--u cannot see the defect unless it is in bright sunshine.I had 3 paint shops gave me there opinion==documented there person randy tell me he was sorry how bad scratches were..they are not made from a dirty towel --several experts I had look at it called it a manufacture defect..thats what it is a manufacture defect--I have it documented and will proceed through my lawyer if I don't get compensated---I have a nice new truck with a bad bed manufactured by these clowns--there very unprofessional..nice new truck with a bed looks like heck..there names on it.makes them look bad...I believe they think they was at fault.thats why they had me get 3 estiments after they sent some clown out with 2 cans of paint-and he told them it was to bad==its not surface scratches --its a manufacture defect--they know it..I will push this to this company fixes it or are outta business there very bad people at this company--[redacted] was very rude unprofessional--I have evidence that its a manufactures defect--I want whats right for me the consumer not so they can rip me off on this bad powder coat.thanks [redacted]Final Business Response In response to a complaint from a customer of Galion-Godwin Truck Body Company, in the issue of a finish paint job, please see enclosed a copy of the sales order and invoice for this customer. You can see there were no charges for a "finish coat" black paint job. The Galion-Godwin facility in Ohio has never offered a finish paint job. Years ago after I began the Powder Paint coat process at my Dunn, North Carolina facility, it was all my idea of what to do and how to do it. At that time I requested [redacted] Paint to formulate a black primer to be used on bodies. We performed extensive test trials on this primer as well as salt spray testing and today it far exceeds anything else in this field. The Dunn plant offers a finish paint job for installation purposes only for Municipal and State contracts, not to be shipped out by motor carrier. However I am aware that some distributors use this black primer as a finish paint job which we do not recommend. This happens in North Carolina as well as Ohio. We recommend for the customer to have a final coat applied at the Distributors installation facility at the time the body is installed. Some customers do not adhere to purchasing a finish paint job at the time of installation. This was the case in which [redacted] distributor ([redacted]) did not do a finish paint job for this customer ([redacted]).As you can see in the enclosures, we never received an order for a finish paint job from this customer, [redacted], nor was he charged as suchI have done everything to try to appease this customer and I find him to be unreasonable even though it was not my problem other than him being a dissatisfied customer and I recognize that. If [redacted] would have done the finish paint job, we would not have this problem. How can I warranty a problem that I never charged for? I recommend Mr. [redacted] to go back to [redacted] to try to work this issue out with him. Please notify me if you need any further information.Sincerely[redacted]Owner/Founder
