[redacted] [redacted]I am unable to open or access the link sent to me on my PC, I only can read the messages sent by accessing them from my phone. Given that part of the message says I only have 30 minutes to respond, I do not feel confident typing out my answer via the phone. I DO NOT accept the Business Owners Response. We are not totally familiar with all the business in Estes park BUT, my husband did buy the rings at a shop called The Gold Mine. The shop has a Cat drawing as its logo and since my daughter and I rescue and foster feral cats, he was drawn to the shop by its logo. His purchase(the rings) are still tagged,in plastic bags and in a small black paper bag that has a gold cat on it as well as The Gold Mine.As I stated when I first filled this complaint, my husband went to this shop with the intent of purchasing a souvenir, locally crafted gemstone ring(s). When he was in the shop looking at jewellery, a lady asked him if he needed help, he told he was looking for a nice locally crafted gemstone ring, perhaps amethyst, in gold or silver. He said the store seemed to have alot of nice stuff, she thanked him and said she owned the shop. she started to help him select some rings, while she was doing so, someone asked her a question by name-"Lisa". Online the store is listed as being owned in part by a Lisa Plume, so that is who we thought was the person who helped my husband that day.If there is another Lisa who is an owner then maybe she helped my husband that day. Otherwise I can not say why she has no recollection of this sale gone bad, other than perhaps it is common for her to just sell people what she has even if it is not quite what they ask for and not be concerned if they are unhappy later. In her response she focused mainly on a garnet ring but a big part of my complaint was that my husband thought he was buying a GOLD amethyst ring for me as well as a LOCALLY made garnet ring. She says the 14k gold rings have a sign by them stating what they are and maybe they do,BUT this ring has hallmarks "ADI 9(or8)25 and Thailand on it and is Gold Filled, and this was not made clear to my husband before he bought it.And he did buy it at The Gold Mine along with what was supoosed to be a locally crafted Garnet Sterling Ring. As I said, both rings still have their tags, etc and even our credit card statement shows the purchase. He said he would take the GOLD amethyst ring and whoever sold it to him did NOT say then"it is gold filled, not solid gold" It was only after he had bought the ring and my son and him were eating lunch near by that my son thought the rings hallmarks were not right for GOLD. My husband did call the shop then (I saw the outgoing call to The Gold Mine). Whoever answered said they remembered helping him, so we assumed the person on the phone was the same Lisa. He asked her the specifics about the rings, the strange hallmark, were they locally made, what were they??She told him then that the ring was not gold but gold filled and then proceeded to tell him that it was high quality and that it was a good as gold etc etc.She told him that the rings were not made necessarily in Colorado but definitely were made in the USA. He was quite upset and told her that wasn't at all what he had asked for. all she said then was that there was no returns on jewellery. Again, there may be a sign in her store that says they take exchanges, my husband did not see it,since he was only going to be in Colorado for the day=, the shopping option to return or exchange did not matter and he trusted her to help him buy what he asked. His mistake trusting her. She did NOT offer any chance to exchange the item when she spoke with him on the phone. She was very curt and short. If she had been at all  helpful and willing to exchange them for something(anything) else, he would have, rather than travel home with useless jewellery that sits, still tagged,in bags, in the bottom of a drawer. That should be obvious. Now that she is more helpful after a formal complaint is not surprising. However exchanging the rings now is much more difficult, nothing can be done in person. I was and am willing to mail the rings back to her, bagged and tagged. I had thought about mailing them to her the day he got home with them so she could have them to weigh on her conscience. However getting something in exchange?? Our trust in her is zero.as for calling her to discuss this, my husband DID call her that day when it would have been easy enough to be helpful and nice and sort this out. She claims to not remember any part of this sale etc. At this time I do not want to waste long distance charges debating this sale with her.I again apologise that this message could not be sent any other way. [redacted]Responding to the above complaint, I am the owner of this business and this is the first I heard of it. We have a sign saying we will gladly exchange so the fact is we do exchange and have no problem with it. Also, you stated you spoke with the owner and that is me - none of this that I just read is familiar in the least bit. Did you in fact call the correct business because I never ever spoke with anyone regarding returns of garnet rings, which we would happily do and we even have a huge sign on the register post that says that. I am wondering if the incorrect store was called and thus the confusion? We do not carry jewelry from Thailand, however, we do carry domestically made garnet rings. Not Colorado, but USA made. We have one gold case which contains our 14k jewelry, the rest of our jewelry in the store is sterling silver, which is all clearly marked with hand-written signs on index cards in each case. We have been here for 16 years and thrive to keep our customers happy and always work something out. However, in this case, as you stated speaking to the owner, I was never once talked to by anyone about this situation. You may have the wrong store, but if you feel strongly that it is the correct store please call us and ask fir Lisa so we can work something out.Thank you,Lisa G[redacted]
