[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Regards, [redacted]

We are answering your forwarded complaint #***, which we received this morning. The Goldsmith did, in fact, take in this scrap jewelry, on Saturday, October 4th, at 12:p.m. All our jewelry purchased is entered into a state-wide, police data bank, and this was as well. We
weighed said jewelry at penny weights of sterling silver which is equivalent to $8.00. The gold-plated jewelry was weighed at penny weights and that equals $.50. Everything we purchase is purchased as scrap jewelry, which is typical of the industry. The individuals who brought this jewelry in were given the price and accepted, also signing the sheet, which is processed to the police departments. Prices quoted by the complaint are prices for pure silver and pure gold. Perhaps, the guest, mistakenly thought their items contained some karat weight of goldThis was not the case. They were given the price and agreed to it. If they felt, at the time, this was not a fair and equitable amount, we do not understand why they took the check and left their scrap. The Goldsmith has been in business for over years. We purchase scrap jewelry on a regular basis and pay a fair price. According to state ordinances, we hold all scrap jewelry for seven days, and often times, metals may go down in value. It is our loss, during those times. We cannot release any jewelry before those seven days are over. At that time, if the guest would like to bring the check in, we will be glad to return their items

This is type of business that gives quality service for a reasonable price. I have had many plaques made for an organization to which I belong. This has extended over 10 years. In ALL cases they have produced great quality plaques, medallions and other types of awards, often going out of their way to meet a pressing deadline. They have worked with my organization in payments and even when a plaque had to be re-made. They have up to date equipment and the co-owners are personable and very friendly. For any type of award, this is the place to go. Besides this, they have made jewelry for my wife and have done an outstanding job.

I went in with 1 of my grandsons. in gold I had.1 old watch band marked 1/20 10k gl. 1 gold earring marked on the post. and 1 gold broke necklace. in silver I had 1 old silver teaspoon. 1 marked sterling silver necklace. 4 rings 3 marked 925. 2 earrings, 1 marked 925. she said I hade 850. I said how much she said then 8.50 I got the check and went home to check the prices on gold and silver. I gram of gold was38.00. and silver was about 17.00 an ounce. 925 silver is 92.5% silver plus my gold. the $8.50 can not be right. We are answering your forwarded complaint #[redacted], which we received this morning. The Goldsmith did, in fact, take in this scrap jewelry, on Saturday, October 4th, at 12:43 p.m. All our jewelry purchased is entered into a state-wide, police data bank, and this was as well. We weighed said jewelry at 32 penny weights of sterling silver which is equivalent to $8.00. The gold-plated jewelry was weighed at 16 penny weights and that equals $.50. Everything we purchase is purchased as scrap jewelry, which is typical of the industry. The individuals who brought this jewelry in were given the price and accepted, also signing the sheet, which is processed to the police departments.
