Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: His Contract stated that he was to be paid in full immediately upon installation andin good faith I did That was after we paid him half up front for his services and for the granite in full He left our home at 11:00PM on the first installation after my husband and I trying to work around the noise, dust, dirt and people all day It was not until after he left and we were cleaning up the mess that they left, that we began discovering ALL of the problems with their installation, and not until the next day did we discover the theft of tools, supplies and medicine He was aware that we were unhappy and deposited the check before he would come back out.The color on the third go round was shown to me outside in my driveway and not inside next to the existing granite.I am sorry that Carleton is years old, but that is not an excuse for shoddy workmanship and not reimbursing our money His son who is [redacted] , IS the Granite Man according to the proposal contract I was given [redacted] *s just listed as the representative! Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: According to *** *** this all started because I changed my mind about a seam in my granite that I didn't want or ask for, but he told me I had to have. I am a custom home designer and not an expert on what can and cannot be accomplished with granite, but a bar cut out of a single slab or granite was not unreasonable. He took the word of his fabricator, which royally mis-cut the entire job more than once. Initially, I was to have one seam in a very long counter. I ended up with seams which were uneven and approximately 3/16" wide! The additional seams I credit or blame the fabricator, but the size and appearance of the seams being atrocious was The Granite Man's fault. And it was *** *** that didn't want the ruffle the feathers with his fabricator to make them pay for new granite to fix their mistake! Instead he used a leftover piece sitting in his yard that was the wrong color and striation AND the wrong thickness. Not only were the seams extremely wide and uneven, they use the wrong color epoxy fill which made them stand out even more. The width of the seams I assume was due to only *** *** handling the granite himself and he could not physically side the prices together as he should have. This is unexceptionable to client, let alone someone who uses their house as showing points for their design clients. The Contractor who happens to be a close friend of the *** and recommended him to us agreed with the horrible installation that was preformed. The contractor as well as myself explained many, many times, over the months that the *** wasted with excuses, what I expected, what I did for a living, and how if the job was done correctly I would recommend his services to to both design and real estate clients. Mr*** was quick to tell me that he would compensate me for any referrals and I was quick to tell him on more than one occasion that all I wanted out of it was a good job and no compensation. I wouldn't let my own family see the horrible seams, wrong cuts, different overhangs depths, and color variation. The photos attached show the wrong color granite, the large grey seams, and the two different thicknesses. I have more that I can send showing ALL of the issues as Mr*** seems to think that I was too picky about his installation job
Regards,
*** ***

The color was shown outside as she statedBut it was from a piece of left over that was in her garage..we didn't even start to unload until she said ok

If they were so totally unhappy..why did they pay us. We even went back..then called to go back again..and they told us not to come back....All this aside..at my age of 67 I can no longer do granite.. I'm now on social security..as far as her argument about color of granite I showed the comparison...

before we ever reinstalled the granite and she said ok.. I would never have spent the time with out her ok.. she cost me money that should never have been spent..she at first agreed to have a seam..and then next day said she didn't want It.. that's where problem started.
