I am receipt in your letter dated Aug. 11, 2017. (I was traveling for the entire month of August and now that School has started, I am just now opening my snail mail.).| Would like to respond to the complaint sent to you by [redacted].Summary: [redacted]...

[redacted]'s child attended our camp for years and loved it. Over the years his behavior became increasingly difficult. This year, after he called another camper a "mn" and then slapped another Camper - We had to enforce our behavior policy, which is appended to this letter for your review. Her son was very sorry to leave camp, and her husband asked us to please bend our rules (for a third time that week) by allowing his son to continue in camp. Clearly, he would not have made that request if his wife's criticisms of our camp quality were true.Although our behavior policy states that campers who are ejected from camp for violating the behavior policy are not entitled to any rebate for unused days, we "did" refund [redacted] in full for the "second" (entirely unused) week of camp for which he had signed up.Here is the full text of the note we sent to [redacted] explaining the situation:Thanks for your note. [redacted] had a good discussion with your husband last night concerning [redacted]'s behavior and our efforts to Work with him.We did enjoy hosting [redacted] at camp. We have hosted several IEP students in our camp. Some members of our team are also parents of students who require special accommodations during the school year. We understand that it can be a challenge for parents and staff to choose and provide a successful experience for these campers while maintaining a quality experience for the rest of the Campers.[redacted] has had a wonderful time in our camps, has wanted to return and has also signed up for special events including our two-day Space Camp last year. We have enjoyed having himlEach time, [redacted] has worked diligently with staff to provide independent activities for [redacted]to supplement group activities, when [redacted] preferred not to participate in the group activities. This worked well in past years, but did not work this year.On Tuesday of this week, in the 4th-6th grade room, while the rest of the kids were listening to our [redacted] instructors, [redacted] was given a set of [redacted] so that he could build independently, because he didn't want to follow along with the activity.
