Dear Revdex.com: This is my response to the complaint the I received via mail last Friday 11/10/17 regarding the custom bustle and corset for [redacted]. First, in my 30 plus years of business, I have NEVER had one refund. Not one.. I have had some dissatisfied customers...

certainly, but I rectified all situations so that 100% satisfaction was guaranteed. My [redacted] store has 8 Five-star ratings: I have been in hundreds of shows, completed thousands of works of all media including books, sculptures, commissioned pet portraits, public art for the [redacted], and the [redacted]. I've shown at the [redacted]) and the [redacted], just to name a few exhibitions. I understand her complaint. However, as stated in your letter there are two sides to every story and indeed there are here. To start, she made three payments of $50 each for a total of $150 via [redacted] as we agreed upon: When she was not satisfied, I refunded that $150 100% as of last Monday 11/6/17: I will not refund additional monies for various reasons: 1. Design changes: it was supposed to be a simple corset and bustle per this illustration: She changed it to this. I did not charge her for the change although I should have because the trim and additional rosettes are extra work: 2. Corset change: She agreed to the purchase of this corset which cost approximately $35. She was fitted in person once it arrived. You can see from the screenshots that she agreed to its purchase. Then she changed her mind: She also changed her mind on the trim that she approved and I purchased: And approved the fabric. At this point I had spent about two hours researching the design, fabrics, and corsets. I screen shot several options. I also consulted with her on shoes and belts at NO charge. Another two to three hours purchasing items and gas and transportation expenses. 3. Where the issues come in: -Even though she'd approved the design, corset, fabric, and trim I purchased for she changed her mind. She also gained weight so I had to purchase additional fabric for the bustle. Approximate cost $100 spent in materials so far.. I have the receipts for these as I itemize my taxes. -I had the original bustle done and didn't even put it on her because when I remeasured her I knew it would not fit and she changed the trim. -Because of the changes she agreed to buy fabric and materials. I consulted with her for over three hours via phone to do exactly what she wanted while she was in the store. I have lengthy detailed messages through [redacted] Messenger. If I had charged her for this time, as a master craftsman/artist or my standard styling fee, it would have been $50 an hour. NOTE: she changed her mind on the corset on September 30th. -She bought a white corset that I agreed to dye for her. She said it was satin. I messaged her immediately after the first dye bath did not take because it was 100% WHITE polyester which is hard to dye. I promised to do my best and send pictures. I purchased RIT dye on two different occasions from [redacted]. I also used a tea and coffee staining method for a second dye bath. I consulted with a furniture repair/upholstery artist and she recommended industrial strength dye (which I purchased from [redacted]) and fabric spray (from [redacted]). The fabric would not take further dyeing to get the the burgundy color she wanted. There were three dye baths at two hours each, 6 hours at $50 an hour= $300 worth of work I did not charge her for. I have receipts for all the dye I purchased. -I agreed to purchase the corset from her for the $82 she spent on it and refund the $150. She wanted the corset. She was incredibly upset which I understood. However, she accused me of being unprofessional multiple times, yet I have pages of rants full of slurs, curse words and threats from her. So I agreed to meet her boyfriend in a public space for fear of my safety ([redacted]'s metrolink station where there was plenty of security). She later said the corset was ruined and wanted additional money for it and would not give it back to me. I was willing to do that at first, BUT at this point I could not write it off as damaged per IRS retailing and taxation laws if I did not have the $82 corset in my possession, per advice of my tax accountant. Again note, I put $300 plus $40 dyeing materials into a corset I don't have, yet was willing to buy it from her for an additional $82 so she could recoupe her cost.. 4. Cyber bullying and harassment: Almost immediately after I agreed only the refund her the $150 money, she began to harass me. I understand that it is fair to file complaints, etc. but she sent me a threatening voice mail via [redacted] messenger, standard messages, and threatened to post messages in multiple groups I belong in: Below note my final payment. I sent my cease letter shortly afterward. She threatened and then enacted on these threats which is premeditation. I have screenshots of rants on multiple [redacted] pages and groups that are five pages long. On one page, the administrator personally contacted me and removed her post as she violated the group's and [redacted]'s harassment policy. Again, I did the best I could to civilly end this matter by refunding her money. She also sent a coworker after me via messenger to continue to harass me. At this point, I blocked her on [redacted] per their recommendation. I sent a cease letter. I also consulted my attorney in regards to a restraining order. She ranted a reply to my cease letter. My attorney agreed that we would not file a restraining order unless her behavior continued and I am to have NO contact with her at this point. I have spent over $500 in materials, time, effort, and work to resolve this issue, including another two hours of documenting and writing this letter in my defense. Again, I have resolved this matter to the best of my ability and consider it closed. I will forward a copy of my cease email and her threatening response shortly.
