Review: On March 24, 2012, we paid Heritage Homes a $2000 cash deposit (which we have a receipt) to demolish an existing structure and replace with a modular home. Just after we gave the deposit, my fiance unexpectedly lost his job of 15 years which caused us to be unable to continue with our plan. I immediately notified [redacted], our sales representative, at Heritage Homes of the situation as we were devistated and did not know what to do but knew that we could not continue with our original plan since we knew we could be facing financial difficulties. I asked what would happen to our deposit and contract and was informed that our contract would be valid for 1 year and if things did not work out for us, we would get our deposit returned to us. We weighed our options and tried to find alterantives since we truly hoped that we could make this work. We called a few months later asking if there was other options for a less expensive alternative home and we were told yes. Time went on and we did not receive any other options. Since we hadn't heard anything and my fiance ahd been working but in a temporary position at much less income, I had to call back and ask for the deposit to be returned. We now will have to sell the property that we had in hopes to complete this project. [redacted] was in contact with us via email or phone explaining that he was working on getting our deposit back for us. He explained that we may not receive the entire refund but most of it would be returned. We understood since they did spend time with us prior to the situation. Everyone was very helpful throught this process and we appreciated that. The last that we heard from [redacted] was that he would be in touch with us as soon as heard back regarding our refund. I sent follow-up emails and now we are not receiving any form of contact regarding our deposit refund since March 15, 2013. We did not receive any form of work from this company. Our bank loan did not even go through at the time of my fiance losing his job and now we are not able to get qualified for any amount near what we would have been. We have also been informed that we do not qualify for a construction loan which would have been needed for this project. Please help. Thank you!Desired Settlement: We would like to have our $2000 deposit refunded. If not all of it, at least most of it since we are financially unable to continue with our project.
