*** from Home Handyman was hired to complete some work at my home He sent someone to repair and paint a fence, fix a gate and repair and paint a stairway They just painted over some areas instead of repairing them The gate was thrown together with staples that subsequently fell off and the gate fell apart the day after he left Some of the paint on the fence was not done thoroughly, it was left needing touch-ups
I was happy to pay him once the work was completed to my satisfaction However, since he refused to come out and complete the job without charging extra money for extra work, I argued that he should have done it right in the first place and I was not going to pay for his mistakes
He said he's going to put a lien on the property, which we are trying to sell, so that would not look good for us His workmanship was shoddy and should have been done right the first time when I would have been happy to pay him and present a good review and referrals had he completed the job to my satisfaction
However, I paid him out of pressure not because I was satisfied with the job
