Review: This gentleman came to my house and said he was with [redacted] through [redacted].He said I was pre-approved to get my roof done Then he started talking to me about that the house being painted and all these other things he was going to do for me. I told him I was made to retire. and I was on a very fixed income. The first payment was only going to be $ 61.00 a month.I told him that was all I could afford a month than all of this other things he was going to do for me.Then toward the end he gave me this big bill and told me I needed to pay this. I did not sign some papers and my signature are on them anyway.I never received an itemized bill for anything.I am not sure what to do can you give me any advice or help please. I did not ask for the other things he just talked and talked in circles to me.my entire social security check is $ 1759.30 a month. my house payment is $1200'00 a month and noow they want me to pay $1746.70 extra for the roof, etc, there is no way I can do thisDesired Settlement: I'm not sure but there must be something I can do. I do not want to live on the streets at this rate that is where I will be soon. They took advantage of a 65 year old person with a little problem of remembering things.that is no joke.

Response:

The following is my response to [redacted]s allegations regards my integrity.I first met [redacted] (and [redacted]) and her roommate on 6-9-2013. Her home was in a decapited state at that time and she needed a roof desperately. We contracted to do her roof pendids finance approval for 17,995.00. her payment was to be approx. $250-270 which she signed and agreed to. See Article 1 – contract Q.F. she regretfully was denied financing. On Sept 2nd, 2015, after learning about [redacted] financing a company that did not look @ credit scores and used the equity of someones home with the ability to write-off all payments she was very excited. On 9-2-2015 we contracted to do many things to her home to bring it from it decapitated condition to a home she could feel proud of and happy in. she confided to me that she had not been happy in it for quite some time and felt it was her ex husbands fault for leaving her with a home in such a state. After carefully going over ALL that she chose to do she entered a contract with [redacted] to do the work and [redacted] to do the financing.See Article 2 –Article 2: Please note that this contract clearly describes the work and she was very clear at that time as she initialed and signed all aspects of work to be performed including the elastomeric coating system.See article 3 & 4 –Article 3: Roof Diagram (3)Article 4: Scape of work with prices matching overall costs (4)Note: she somehow lost her copy of article 4 and so we, at her request,Article 5: provided a new copy of the breakdown of all the costs, but in a better and more professional manner.Note: [redacted] the owner of [redacted] went to visit her to make her happy. On this visit he showed her the itemized costs and the refunds that I already told her she had coming. We did not do the windows. No windows – 3,200No window – egress – 600And we did not insulate as it was not necessary – 600Total refund form orig contract: 4,400After extensive discussions between myself and [redacted] we decided to give back most of the profits to make her happy. – 4,600We – or, [redacted] is working with [redacted] to generate a new contract in the amount of only 21,660.To this day I have no idea what happened to change their attitude toward me. My suspicion is that the rooter, when returning to complete their warranty papers told them he believed they paid too much. He probably thought that the contract amount was just for the roof and did not understand the entire scope of work that was being reformed. I do not know as [redacted] would not let me in the door on my visit to complete deal and I found a ‘note’ of her displeasure. She talks about a payment of 72.00? Is all I can think of is that with [redacted] financials there is a net number of approximant payments after deductions for the “energy” savings and the “tax savings”. I originally showed her the payment on just the roof which after anticipated deduction yielded a net payment of 72.00. However, she needed and wanted more work as evidenced by the contract and she asserts that I quick talked her into these extra costs without disclosing the payments, etc. is just not the truth. Who, in there right mind would think you can get a 72.00 payment or $30,000 dollars worth the work? Also, I asked her to please make a printed copy of the [redacted] contract with each signing. I did not see her do this. She asserts that her income of soc. Sec is only just over $1,700 yet she rents out two bedrooms for 600.00 each and all th frn costs of foo. I suspect she also get additional income from other sources but am not sure.I was inexperienced with [redacted] financing and had asked [redacted] to come with me on my first deal. He chose not too as he was “too busy”.I have since been trained w [redacted] and will now and always print a copy of payments and get signatures as there system is all electronic.[redacted] signed twice for this loan and before we started she could have printed the papers for review. She chose not too evidentally. Also, I discovered at my training that with the [redacted] program that at 8% over 20 years the financing charges get quite high.Anyway, I was shocked and hurt with what happened and on Oct 30th, 2015 created a document for [redacted] and [redacted] to bring to her as I wanted to express my feelings of what I felt and observed.See article 7Tite matter to recreate a new contract that she is happy with completely out of my hands. I have done, and did, everything required of me to help [redacted]. It give in a home dignity. Sincerely,[redacted]P.S. Article 8 – there was a notice to her asking if she had any questions direct form [redacted] before the project started.
