My experience with this service was an extremely good one. I was connected to a very good contractor to repair a screen that had been breaking loose from the screen. As it turned out, the screen that had been installed was too narrow and the builder had tried to stretch it and make it work. two years prior I had gotten a handyman to fix it and apparently he had just tried to make it work when it needed replaced. The contractor obtained by The Homeowner's Helper found and showed me the problem, replacing the screen with a new one with plenty of extra width to anchor it under the frame. The screen replacement actually cost less that I paid the other handyman to do an inadequate job. He also painted and did a good job of that too.
This service is badly needed and I greatly appreciate it. A homeowner who may not be handy, knowledgeable, or able to do things themselves that come up is often at a loss to know who to get and who to trust to do that particular job. This service connects you in a personalized way to the right person that you can trust to do a quality job in a professional manner at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this service.

The handy man got on the roof and looked over things. He took pictures and sent them via e-mail with his estimates- either a full new roof or his recommendation of replacing some shingles and taking off a satelite dish with roof repair. He said he thought our roof had another 3-5 years of life. We appreciated his honesty and the time spent getting up on the roof and therefore selected him to do the work. We are also going to engage the handyman to do a little remodel project we have in mind- All because [redacted] has this excellent service- we found a really good person to do the work we need done.
