The HomeTeam Inspection Service Reviews (6)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowIt appears as though we may have been a bit naive when being debriefed by Steve and his team as we listened to his "professional opinion" on how the house stood overall, which varied tremendously from what was documented in the final reportSteve stated "it was a great starter home and needed no major repairs" and also alluded to the fact that there was no violation of code concerning the main electrical service wireHowever, upon receiving an inspection by a licensed electrician as well as RG and E and a Rochester City inspector, the electrical service wire was in fact not up to code and should have been addressed immediately by the previous home owner, a violation that was overlooked by the HomeTeam Inspection ServiceThe roof was another point of interest specifically discussed upon the completion of the inspection, where, when verbally debriefed about the overall inspection, it was stated that "the roof looked overall in good condition; shouldn't need any repairs for the next 3-years." However, Steve and his team only surveyed the roof from the ground level using binoculars, a fact that was not offered voluntarily and only learned about after we read the final report, which was yet another discrepancy that was verbally discussed compared to what was officially documented in the report We are not looking for a refund or any monetary assistance whatsoeverInstead, we are trying to shed light on the true practices of the HomeTeam and urge them not to offer their "professional opinion" after their preliminary inspection if it contradicts what is actually documented in the final written report, a report that appears only to act as a security blanket to respond to any complaints or questions asked after they have left the propertyRegards, [redacted] ***

The team that did my home inspection was very thorough and professionalI would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a home inspection [redacted] ***

To whom it may concern: It is our stand that Ms.***’s complaint towards the HomeTeam is not valid and is not deserving of a refund. There is documentation contradicting her claimsSince receiving this complaint, which we take very seriously and take offense of, we have talked to the realtors
involved in this transaction for further clarification and insight. As far as telling Ms *** that nothing needs to be fixed, this is simply not trueSee attached inspection report and signed agreementIn response to the electrical cable noted in the complaintIt is documented with photos in her inspection report that there were defects with the cable. According to realtors Ms*** received a $credit at closing towards the replacement of this cable as a result of our report. In response to the leaks noted in the complaintThere were no leaks visible from the roof or the shower at the time of inspection. We cannot report items or defects that are not present or visible at the time of inspection(latent or concealed)The home did not have an attic accessThis makes it impossible to inspect the underside of the roofThis was stated on the reportIt was stated by the real estate agents that the plumbing system was tested by Ms *** more than once while visiting the property before the inspectionNo leaks were presentAll plumbing fixtures were tested at the inspectionAll leaks present at the time of inspection were documented on the reportIt appears Ms *** has gotten some less than professional and less than ethical guidance with this situation. In closing, we have taken enormous pride for the last years in providing a great service with a straight forward ethical approachThis complaint is not warranted or justified. Thank you for your time. in the way this was handledThe customer seems to have been satisfied and I hope this resolves the issue and will take measures to try and insure this does not happen againThank-you

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. It appears as though we may have been a bit naive when being debriefed by Steve and his team as we listened to his "professional opinion" on how the house stood overall, which varied tremendously from what was documented in the final report. Steve stated "it was a great starter home and needed no major repairs" and also alluded to the fact that there was no violation of code concerning the main electrical service wire. However, upon receiving an inspection by a licensed electrician as well as RG and E and a Rochester City inspector, the electrical service wire was in fact not up to code and should have been addressed immediately by the previous home owner, a violation that was overlooked by the HomeTeam Inspection Service. The roof was another point of interest specifically discussed upon the completion of the inspection, where, when verbally debriefed about the overall inspection, it was stated that "the roof looked overall in good condition; shouldn't need any repairs for the next 3-5 years." However, Steve and his team only surveyed the roof from the ground level using binoculars, a fact that was not offered voluntarily and only learned about after we read the final report, which was yet another discrepancy that was verbally discussed compared to what was officially documented in the report.  We are not looking for a refund or any monetary assistance whatsoever. Instead, we are trying to shed light on the true practices of the HomeTeam and urge them not to offer their "professional opinion" after their preliminary inspection if it contradicts what is actually documented in the final written report, a report that appears only to act as a security blanket to respond to any complaints or questions asked after they have left the property. The team that did my home inspection was very thorough and professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a home inspection. [redacted]
