The I School

Review: After registration and deposits were made, we decided to go with another school closer to our home, under the impression we would receive some of our money back, other than the $[redacted] non refundable deposit.We informed the Director/Co owner on [redacted] by phone and followed up with a email on [redacted] on our intentions to not attend the I school. As part of our tuition agreement, we paid a sum of $[redacted]. Per my discussion with the Director on [redacted], I was told I would not be refunded the amounts stated below, due to her Policy.A. Non refundable registration fee of $[redacted] will not be refunded (agreeable)B. $** supply fee will not be refunded (as our child has not attended and ample time has been given to not purchase supplies do not agree)C. Deposit of $[redacted] will not be refunded (do not agree)Unfortunately, copies of documents signed were not given to us nor were they requested, as the registration process was very informal, the class dates were not set and we would be informed at a later date as they would start early [redacted].Desired Settlement: As ample notice was given (over 30 day), and following the agreement I would expect to be refunded the amount of $[redacted].

Response:

The registration forms signed by parents explicitly describe our non-refund policies for registration and supply fees. The deposit may be refunded IF there is a minimum of 3 months enrollment and a 30 day notice given. These policies are standard for most quality preschools and even daycare centers don't refund registration and supply fees and generally require a 2 week notice of withdrawel. We are not a daycare chain and our financial policies must safeguard, as much as possible, that we operate at full enrollment.
