Bought a gap policy through IHC. Attached an rx policy and Telemedicine policy to the gap policy. Though the gap policy stopped as planned, the others did not, and billing for these continued. Pretty cheesy business model.
My 3 year old daughter has epilepsy. We currently live in St George Utah where there are no pediatric neurologists. I called IHC to give exception to cover a doctor in Las Vegas, which would be a 2 hr drive. I was told by HIC they couldn't make this exception because the have a neurologist in Provo we could see. Really? They expect us to drive 5 hours with a toddler who has grand mal seizures! This is way more dangerous to be stuck in the middle of no where if my daughter went into status epilepticus. The other issue is we need to see an epileptologist because her seizures remain uncontrolled for 2 years now. Vegas has one, but they won't make an exception because thge have one in Salt lake city, a 6-7 hour drive.
Unfortunately without additional information regarding the specific policy, we are unable to research to determine if the information is valid or if the policy is in fact one that is administered by any of our TPAs. We would be more than willing to look into this further if provided the case number or contact information to reach out to Mr. Smith.
