To whom it may concern,This letter is written as a response to a complaint fried by a homeowner, [redacted], complaint ID # [redacted].One of our technicians visited the property after we received a call from the homeowner about a potential leak. The homeowner had...

just gotten their patio renovated, which included installing a portion of their patio on top of a portion of the irrigation system. It is never good practice to install a patio on top of water-lines, especially a constantly pressurized water-line.At the time the technician visited the property, it appeared that water was coming from underneath the patio. Because the patio had just been renovated, the technician drew the conclusion that the pipe had been damaged and was leaking. The technician also fixed a leak on a valve box in another part of the yard. In any event, for over twenty years, when we encounter a customer that installs their patio on top of their irrigation system, we always reroute the pipes so that none of the pipes, especially the main (pressurized line) are under the patio. The reason is that if the pipe were to burst, which can happen over time, then the patio foundation could be totally undermined. And, it can take some time to notice that the pipe had burst. In the meantime, the foundation of the patio is ruined. It is just not good practice to install your patio on top of your irrigation system, and leave it.Though, it appears that the water in question was not coming from under the patio, the technician gave the homeowner sound advice, based on the information he had at the time, and based on the situation. After the repair, the homeowner requested that we reimburse him $150. After he did not receive the $150 he requested in his expected time frame, he requested that we reimburse him $600. The bill the homeowner had received not only included the rerouting of the pipes, but also included the repair on the valve box in the other part of the yardSoon after, we reimbursed him the original amount that he requested, $150. The homeowner accused us of purposely assessing fraudulent repairs. The technician made his assessment based his findings, using the information he had at the time. And, he advised the homeowner in a way that is consistent with how we have always advised our customers who are in this situation. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:  I disagree that their technician provided "sound advice".  He literally spent less than 1 minute before he "expertly" diagnosed that my pipes were leaking.  If he would have done his due diligence, he would have found that the sprinkler heads in that zone(s) were all working fine which indicates that there was no leak.  I know this because that was his explanation for another zone in my yard that had a legitimate leak (the heads did not come up at all in this zone due to a leak)  As mentioned in my initial complaint, the total bill charged was for $735 of which probably only $150 of it was legitimate and a needed repair.  It's convenient that the owner now says that his company always reroutes lines if a customer has a new patio installed and the lines are now under that patio.  However, it should be the customers choice to agree to repair or reroute lines - not the company.  Who is to say I would have had the Irrigation Professionals do that work?  I would have at least got estimates from some other companies.  But I was not afforded that opportunity.  To date, the company has sent me a partial refund of only $150.  This indicates to me that they know they were wrong.  I had this company (or forms of it) service my sprinkler system for close to ten years and they always found ways to extort more money from me.  Each spring, they would try to charge me for numerous new sprinkler heads which were in dire need of replacement.  At first I agreed as I was not sure of the validity.  But as the years past, I caught on to their game.  My neighbors have similar sprinkler systems and they very rarely have to replace heads.  Most years they tried to sell me seven-eight sprinkler head replacements at around $50-60 bucks each.  I feel this company is not trustworthy and the Revdex.com rating should reflect accordingly so that other consumers can be aware of their poor customer service and sales tactics.I do have a question for the Revdex.com.  How come my complaint is not registering under Irrigation Professionals?  The web site still indicates zero for complaints filed.
