Review: After a lengthy repair where they replaced a heater core, my most recent finding was the air conditioner not working when we went to use it so the vehicle was taken to a shop to diagnose. It turned out to be an electronic control module that Jenken's failed to plug back in that was inside the vehicle and up above the broken glove box hinges as they left it. We didn't notice the broken glove box for a couple weeks because we had no reason to get into the glove box and didn't notice the air conditioner didn't work until recently, because with the cold weather, there was no reason to turn the air conditioner on. The air conditioning compressor would not turn on because of this 'overlooked' step when they were putting it back together after replacing the heater core. Poor workmanship that left us with an extremely soiled carpet, broken glove box hardware, and air conditioner unit that wouldn't work because they forgot to plug it back in when completing repairs.Desired Settlement: I believe they owe me reimbursement for the cost of having the air conditioner diagnosed by a professional shop and I have sent them that invoice with again, no response. Having to take it to the shop for diagnosis wouldn't have been necessary had Jenken's completed the repair thoroughly and satisfactorily.
I had a heater core replaced by the jenkins family auto barn and chose them after having read some online positive reviews which I now believe came from close associates of theirs. They had my car for nearly a month after the first part was an incorrect part that wouldn't fit. From there I received continued stories of "the part should be in town for delivery today" as I would call occasionally (after they stopped responding to my emails for status updates). When I picked the car up, the battery seemed dead because they messed with the connection as part of the heater core replacement. The car died in traffic on the way home because of the loose connection, CD's flew off the roof of the car onto the highway (don't know who they belonged to) and later when I asked to have the glove box reviewed because it wasn't as it was before they worked on it, I never received a response. We spent just shy of $1,000 on this repair and the customer service was about the worst I can imagine. They even trashed the floor mats and that's after the owner, [redacted], told me they would steam clean the affected carpeting.
