Work that was done sloppy, work not completed and money owed back.
***, owner of Great American Services, LLC out of Youngsville, NC was hired back in May 2017 to complete a patio that included a planter with two (2) retainer walls, a retainer wall that was to be built around a Crape Myrtle tree, which was located inside of the patio, a delivery of decorative rocks (placed under my deck, under the steps leading up to the deck, location of the french drainage system and inside of the retainer wall built around the Crape Myrtle tree). Mr. advised after the work was completed, the patio would be cleaned and the dirt (red clay) removed that had been excavated to do the patio. He also advised the concrete patio under my deck would be cleaned, the front pad of my concrete driveway and sections of the back of my house. My home and driveway had previously been cleaned by another company. I have paid Mr. a total of $4,148 (a Cashier's check for $2,340 that included the excavation of the patio - $1,350, $240 for decorative rocks and $750 for the french drainage installation). A money order ($1,808) was initially provided for the patio materials. I was never provided a receipt for this and went to ***o located in Raleigh to inquire. I was told Mr. only paid around $1,000 for materials, so I'm not sure where the additional $800 comes from. I paid for materials at *** to build the retainer walls (around $600). Now I'm left with a backyard that is a disaster. The patio is not level and holds water, the french drainage system was installed incorrectly, the retainer walls are not level and looks like it was done by a child and was not delivered the appropriate amount of decorative rocks. With the current condition of my backyard I have had to postpone having my yard aerated and seeded with the company I hired. I was advised this needed to be done by the end of October. I have attempted several times to allow Mr. to make things right without any success. I asked him several times for receipts and a contract to cover everything we discussed and was told he would work on that. I have numerous text messages to support my claim and lots of pictures showing the work done and not done. My last attempt was on September 26, 2017 where Mr. was to meet me at my house to go over the job. I also had written up a contract that included the things I was not satisfied with and the corrections to be made. He did not show up and feels like he was being threatened. However, I assured him I was not threatening him but making a promise I would take drastic action against him. I would like to add this project has been going on since June 2017 and is absolutely ridiculous. Mr. was constantly stopping his crew on my job to go start on another one. Hopefully I have provided enough information to help me in my case against Mr.. If you need any additional information, such as pictures or screen shots of the text messages, please let me know.
