The Key People

If you want to have someone charge you for not cleaning your office building, then you should hire The Key People Co. When I started to oversee day to day operations in the building I have my business in, I reluctantly kept The Key People Co. on as the cleaning service. I was reluctant because prior to taking over as building manager, I was convinced that the Key People Co. subcontracted cleaning person/s was not showing up most of the time to even bother cleaning. Convinced because they were rarely seen, and the building kept getting dirtier. I made it very clear to K.C. (supposedly a manager or something in [redacted]) about my concern. K. assured me that the level of cleanliness would improve over time, and it did, but not because of her or the subcontracted cleaning people. It improved, in the beginning, because I was constantly having to remind them of what they were contracted to do. Basic stuff like vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning interior glass etc. After a few weeks I started to suspect that the cleaning was not getting done properly, but I was not able to present any hard evidence. There was an incident in the building that encouraged me to install security cameras. My suspicions were confirmed when I watched the recordings. The subcontracted cleaning person was obviously trying to get in, and get out. They were obligated to stay for 1.5 hours, but only stayed for 56 minutes. The vacuuming was sporadic, they did not mop, they did not clean interior glass, they did not even move the mat in the lobby to clean underneath it etc. I presented my evidence to K.C., and her response was to suggest that I was hard to please, and that we should go our separate ways. If asking them to perform the very basic cleaning services outlined in their contract means I am hard to please, then I guess I am. I realized that I was not going to get anywhere with K.C., so I called A. (CEO). Still waiting for the return call A.?? The Key People Co., K.C., A., and their contract is a joke. They obviously did not learn how to treat their customers from their experience in the previous review, and I am hard pressed to believe they ever will. Until they get some oversight in place, hold their subcontractors accountable, stop preying on their customers trust, they will just be another company that will tell you one thing, and do another. Which is criminal in my opinion! I have put people in jail for less.

We have had The Key People cleaning our office for a year. Today, 1-8-2015, I have terminated their service. We are not overly picky, but we do like to have our entire office vacuumed, mopped and dusted every week. Most of the time the cleaners would not do one or more of these three basic cleaning items each week. They always removed our garbage and that became the only constant.
One time the staff left our office unlocked and our alarm was not set once they were finished. Luckily the owner needed to grab something from the office that day and was able to lock up. This is obviously unacceptable.
The final straw was sending an email to my contact person on the 5th of January to discuss our situation. I offered to renegotiate our price to a higher amount if necessary in order to get a good job each week. Today is the 8th of January and she has never responded!
There are too many other professional cleaning companies out there. I will never refer anyone to them and will tell anyone that asks about my lack of service from this company.
